This is the exact moment I got filtered. Having to get through this gauntlet is not fun at all, it's just exhausting.
>>
You can summon the old guy and hug the wall. Or save up bombs and nuke their asses
>>
>>720718225
Beat it with no nail upgrades on my first try (without using tools). Just use the walls to your advantage against the big hammer guys to take potshots at them. Wanderer crest's dash attack is good for this.
>>
>>720718225
>throw lots of tacks
>wait
oops, I just defeated two mini bosses at the same time by doing nothing at all.
>>
>>720718225
I beat them without sharpening the nail once. lmao.
>>
>>720718225
You can get Garmond or Shakra to help
You can permanently disable the silk-stealing ghosts from spawning to reduce the amount of enemies
You can abuse poison tacks/cogflies
>>
>>720719350
>You can permanently disable the silk-stealing ghosts from spawning to reduce the amount of enemies
You can? Is this tied to a particular wish or boss encounter or something?
>>
>>720718225
Rune Rage will kill both of them in two casts, but odds are you don't have it yet.
>>
>>720718225
Get 2 nail upgrades, wandering crest and the AOE thread attack. I like silver anklets and the wall cling tool so you can get a lot of space if need be. Make survival a priority over simply doing damage. Don't panic and retreat if you feel overwhelmed. Ngl, i pause this game just to take a moment to think. You'll get it.
>>
>>720718225
The frog in blight town is worse
>>
>>720719818
>i pause this game just to take a moment to think
The point of a fight like this is to get you stressed and get your heart pumping. Pausing the game kills all tension and worsens your experience. You're meant to calm your nerves in spite of the circumstances and push on, so that your respite comes only after you've beaten the gauntlet.
>>
>>720719884
>You can permanently disable the silk-stealing ghosts from spawning to reduce the amount of enemies
Wait what? You're not talking about the spiders? Those could spawn outside of the mist?
>>
>>720719439
There's a room in high halls with a cart that you can move into a position that lets you jump into a secret area.
>>
>>720719439
No it's the room right above the entrance to the gauntlet, it even shows up as a little door on the map
>>
>>720719439
Dude just explore lmao
>>
>>720718225
>muh fun
Kill all funcucks
>>
>>720720087
He means the flying klan hoods that randomly drop in during fights and drain your silk in act 2.
>>
>>720720126
>>720720146
does this disables them for choral chamber also? I already did the gauntlet
>>
>>720720362
It turns them off everywhere.
>>
>>720720362
Yes everywhere. You will never seen them in-game after that. Your Hunter's journal will autofill

You mean the one you have to unlock with the simple key? The one with the rosary bead sign outside it? I discovered the hidden wall in that room and went through that whole section. I don't recall seeing anything that could deactivate the silk-stealing guys.
>>720720126
I know the room you're talking about. I may or may not have already explored that bit; I'll have to go back and check. Thanks for the hint.
>>720720152
I thought I'd explored all of High Halls, but apparently not. I even obsessively whack walls like a maniac.
>>
>>720720628
Be aware you need double jump just in case you don’t have it yet.
>>
>>720718225

If you spam her spikes, you can kill one right away when they drop down.
>>
>>720720928
Oh look everyone, it’s Mr. “Well MY tool pouch isn’t completely dry by the time these two spawn”

beastfly is the worst boss fight of all the games in existence

Above that, it's the long thin room on the map right of the writing of "The Forum." It has a wheeled crib at the far end that you an move by hitting it. Hit that more to the center of the room, then double jump off it where there are beams of light shining through. The room will seem like a fight gauntlet, but it's not. You need to explore and destroy something to make them stop spawning, not kill enough of them without dying.

I struggled with this fight until I eliminated those guys and got Garmond to help. Got it on my first try with those improvements and I look back on it as a great encounter. Act 2 trains you to fight packs of chorus enemies and this is a worthy final exam on the subject. Final wave was a letdown though, you're so incentivized to cheese it, either by tool spam (one of my bigger complaints with the combat system as a whole) or by hugging the wall and waiting for your ally to chip them down.
>>
>>720720126
can you access that shit without doublejump? i tried and couldnt get up there
>>
>>720721282
Imagine not saving your entire to pouch for that wave
>>
ok so
>how do I get Quixote or Xena to help me out
>where the fuck is the easy pale oil, I saw the gourmand quest but I dunno how to get 4/5 ingredients
>>
>>720718393
You know I'm starting to think people just fucking lie about first trying things. No upgrades or tools BULLSHIT.
>>
>>720726097
If you run into Garmond enough times, he'll eventually show up on the rooftops east of Songclave. Beat him in a duel and he'll help you.
Buy all of Shakra's maps and eventually she'll give you a quest to follow her through a new area in Bilewater. Finish that quest and she'll help you. I've heard people say that you can duel her but I never got that and she helped me in the forum.
I unlocked both and Shakra was the one who showed up to help me, so it seems to be only one at a time, and I don't know if Shakra takes priority or if it's random.

Both of them require going through the Whispering Vaults. Take a shitty map to guide you if you'd like.

Garmond and Zaza are to the right of Songclave, you need to break through a hidden wall down in the Vaults and go through a platforming section. You have to duel them (it's easy) before they give you help.

Easy pale oil is from going left in the Whispering Vaults. You need to do some puzzle platforming hitting boxes around to jump on.
>>
>>720727149
Garmond sounds easier and I like him more anyway, plus he doesn't projectile vomit all over the place. Thanks
>>
>>720727264
ooh I didn't know you go further east in vaults, thought I had it completed. There's so much secret shit in this game.
>>
>>720726097
Mossberry Stew is the easiest, it's from the moss druid.
Crustnut is from a platforming segment in the Sands. You need the clawline.
Vintage Nectar is a gauntlet fight in the Halfway Home.
Pickled Muckmaggot is a boss fight in Sinners Road. You need double jump.
Courier's Rasher is a delivery quest and you can save it for last so you have the movement upgrades. Also make sure you find the speed upgrade charm.
>>
>>720718225
Focus on damage and don't save your silk for heals, spells absolutely nuke these fights. Spam tools on final wave to kill one of the big guys asap. Enjoy victory.
>>
>>720726273
I've played ~300 hours of HK before even starting up Silksong. I conquered the Hall of Gods on radiant difficulty and everything. Silksong so far has been a breeze for me. It's why I decided to forgo nail upgrades, so that bosses and enemies take longer to defeat and I have to really figure them out to win. No boss has taken me more than 10 attempts, most only taking 5-6. Sister Splinter, Trobbio and Beastfly were all first-try jobs. The new movement mechanics feel incredibly liberating, and the game has been super fun so far. I'll eventually capitulate and upgrade my nail (and try out different crests and tools), but I'm enjoying the game with the limits I've set out, and don't at all feel like I'm punishing myself. I play on keyboard (WASD+IJKL) btw.
>>
>>720718225
It's a very easy fight those 2 guys have very clear openings and often stand still while the other attacks. It's easier than unupgraded watcher knights
>>
>>720720046
Yeah, it's bullshit. It's no different from you dying from the encounter and then formulating a plan at the bench. Just play the game however you like.
>>
>>720718225
I beat them with no nail upgrades beast crest pogo jump only on my first try lmao git gud
>>
>>720718225
Complete Shakra's quest before that and she comes help you. She's actually really strong and you can just focus on dodging.
>>
>>720727662
autismGOD... I kneel
>>
>>720718225
this game has a hidden easy mode that i pulled out for shit like this and GROAL, if you equip architect and max out the blue flower hearts (i think it requires one over doubling your health) eventually you'll go into a mode where you just have infinitely regening health.
>>
I died twice to the first big guy, learned his moves etc, then locked in and beat it with zero tools. Almost freaked out when the duo came in but I was in the zone and started styling on them. 10/10 game.
>>
>>720727584
It’s wild how much easier the fight gets once you accept that silk is basically mana and not a panic heal resource. Went full spellspam with the Echo Flare + Crescent combo and it just shredded the back half. Still burned thru like four chalk bombs in the last 30 seconds but it felt earned. Only regret is not saving more silk for the sick aerial finisher-you know the one.
>>
>>720718393
Almost beat it on my first try and then got tilted for the next 3 hours, making me quit Silksong till the DLC.
You just got lucky they didn't overlap in a cunt way.
>>
>>720718225
Traps and poison make short work of all the flying enemies as they spawn in, then the parry art clears the fatties at the end
>>
>>720718225
Caltrops + poison. It felt like cheating actually

Architect crest charged attack was so fucking good here, I first tried the arena with it. That said I had explored and found two nail upgrades by that point though.

remember, if you have used a single bench, you didn't beat the game
>>
You think this is bad? alexa post bilewater now

>Hidden vaults secret map room
FUCK OFF I can't believe I missed that and the fucking shortcut
Maps being in secret areas is fucking cancer
