Sure, why not? Also, in an hypothetical scenario where there's an AI game that looks good and fun, I'd pirate it.

I am simply just never paying for it. I'd rather support hard working developers of a 7/10 game than proompters cutting corners "developing" a 10/10 game.

After all, I'm not entirely anti-AI. I've laughed at plenty of funny AI memes on /v/. It's simple a matter of principles and knowing that rewarding developers for cutting corners is the same as asking them to shit down your throat.
>>
What counts as an AI game?
There's a difference between "Grok, make Minecraft 2" and using AI to generate assets that people touch up.
>>

what do you think about 1 man indie dev projects that use AI in order to supplement it's weaknesses? Like, a coder who can't make art using AI art or an artist who can't code using AI code.

>and using AI to generate assets that people touch up.
That's AI to me.
The line gets blurry when developers are using AI to come up with concepts for games, for example, or for coming up with concepts for character designs and then actually drawing inspired on them. I'm not sure where I fall on that line yet.

But using assets created by AI is clearly in the AIslop category and I will not pay for it

What if the quality were high enough that you couldn't even tell it was AI?

Sounds cool and could be good, but I will not pay for it.
Only way that's acceptable is if he uses AI at the start in some sort of prototype to convince someone else to join him and actually do the real work that complements what he's missing.
Look at Balatro. That guy has the most inefficient coding ever, doesn't really know how to do the art and paid some guy to do the great music. That's the kind of developer I want to reward. That's how the industry moves in a positive direction. Rewarding cut corners with AIslop leads the opposite way. It's no different from rewarding micro transactions.

That they should stop being bitches and actually put in effort. I'm not gonna headpat them for the "omg le one man dev" meme. I also automatically ignore a game if it has a bunch of "omg le one man indie dev" shilling around it but it clearly got put together from marketplace assets or made with cheap pixel art.

If I find out it's AI and I accidentally bought an AIslop game, I will refund it and Steam will accept it. It's already happened.

If they manage to fool me into supporting AIslop and get away with it without me ever knowing, then sure, there's nothing I can do about it, anon. I'm not gonna pretend I'm omniscient. You better be very good at hiding that shit, though, cause not only do I pay attention, but my ears are low to the ground.

Game companies eventually will have so much of the dev process outsourced to AI, they will simply stop disclosing what exactly was used for it.
It will happen this decade.
>>
>>720720942
I stopped trying to make games because I can't afford to pay artists, and I don't have 10 years to dedicate to learning how to draw and 3D model.
AI is my only hope to get back into gamedev someday. I'd rather have human artists but only if my AI slop games make enough revenue for me to scale.

I'll tell you when the penguins learn how to fly.

>tfw they'll give me a reason to never pay for AAA games again
Alright. There's always a silver lining.

>>720721127
Well, then if you manage to succeed with your AIslop and make non-AIslop and it's to my interest, I will start paying for it. I think it's gonna be pretty hard for a scenario like that to happen, though, because it'd mean I'd have to trust a guy that used AI before and he'd have to be explicit in saying that he's no longer using AI now that he can afford to, and etc. It just seems very unlikely to even happen. If you managed to succeed with AIslop, would you really be principled enough to change directions? I'll cross to that bridge when I get there.

Translation: "I never made anything ever, but got addicted to daydreams of becoming a legendary one man indie dev with a smash hit game. However I got filtered after like 3 gamemaker tutorial videos and am generally a lazy normalfag bitch with zero creativity, passion or talent so I hope the computer will just do everything for me while I get all the credit"
Faggot!
