Shmup thread since I just 1cc'd Batsugun Special, very fun game what should I play next

I started playing that Saturn game, Radiant Silvergun. The game seemed impossible at first with the three buttons and all the combinations, but after playing for a while, I started to get used to it. It seems pretty fun, but I need to play more to reach any conclusions.

I like all the shot-types, you end up feeling super powerful at the end.Mushi's definitely on my list. I'm thinking next will probably be DoDonPachi or one of the Touhou games.

Batrider advanced is about as hard as Garegga to *just* 1cc though, so be aware.

I've found 95% of the value I've gotten from my ps4 has been m2 ports, haha. Also, if you really want to it's super easy to transfer replays to PCs via a flash drive, although quality won't be as good as a capture card.

Question for anons, when you're playing shmups do you ever do something passive like listen to a podcast or audiobook, or even watch something on a second monitor? I know the soundtracks are often good but when you've listened to it a bit do you ever put anything else on

>>720726063Nice! DDP is a great game but it would be a big difficulty jump from Batsugun Special. I recommend doing first the Touhou games on normal. 6, 7, 8 and 10 are all great starting points. Also 4 but you need a PC-98 emulator for that one. If you're interested in Toaplan's early stuff, I highly recommend Flying Shark. It's a simple game that teaches fundamentals such as streaming, shotgun, bullet sealing, routing and resource management. It's difficult, but not brutally so.

>>720730698I don't think DDP 1-all is really harder, C-S rapes the screen and you can bomb spam your way to victory. 2-all is a completely different beast but still reasonable for people who have played enough shmups.
