>>720732432The game could really use some more variety.It also really needs better balancing to make everything that's there worth using.As it stands, basic attacks are basically just there to build blue like it's FF7R and you need to build your turn. Even the unlockable basic attack routes deal barely any damage. And they don't do anything cool like having i frames in the combo or something to justify themselves either. So the best thing to do in fights that actually matter is to often just stick with three lights and stay ready to parry.The special moves are neat but they all do roughly the same thing, knock enemy on his ass, deal damage and then you choose what bonus you want: even more damage, more armor damage or some points off the stagger meter or AOE. And the thing that really annoyed me was that the best tactic seemed to be to just pile up a bunch of meter and then just stunlock the boss for a while as you trade in all your damage.Meanwhile all the empowered moves you could use meter on instead just aren't worth it. I'd love to incorporate all the flashy parry and dash follwups into my gameplay but they just don't give enough for costing me entire special moves.I really like the foundation of this combat system. I love me some Parryslop and it does that well. The last few bosses and Mann really make the system they had shine. Just needs a bit more tweaking to make all of it useful the next time around.
