Am I the only Anon here that loved this game, including the runbacks?I went from sucking ass to pogoing like a pro, Bilewater and putrified ducts seems like a joke to me now. And now they are playing silksong a just normal game. it's not even hard. it just doesn't hold your hand. it doesn't offer in game easy mode liek you are used to. and /v/ can't handle it.

>>720735048It's not like it's new to Silksong. Hollow Knight also gave you a piece of pale ore for rescuing grubs. However, that was at grub 31 out of 46 so right at the 2/3 mark instead of requiring every grub on top of needing to complete 3 mini games. You also needed multiple pieces of pale ore to go beyond the second upgrade to your nail.

Runbacks are important because without them bosses just turn into meat grinders. Silksong succeeds where Hollow Knight failed in regards to boss combat because most people can beat HK's bosses by just mashing attack and healing without learning a boss pattern. If the bonfire/checkpoint is right before the boss you don't have time to think about what you did wrong, you just constantly run back in and try the same shit. The runback forces you to think about what you'll do differently.
