Back when everything had to be coded from scratch, the difficulty of making videogames created a barrier of entry where only the smartest most dedicated people could make it.Now that the technology has been streamlined, any retard with an "idea" can make a game, and hence the market s flooded with garbage. Also all games made with engines are literally soulless.
>>720741615>Also all games made with engines are literally soulless.uhh...
Roblox
>>720741615Somehow, AAA developers make the worst games right now. Indie devs with UE5 make better and more optimized games.
>>720741803You know what I meant, like the streamlined engines. Unity, Unreal, they all soulless.
>>720742105>everspace 2 is soulless nowI think you should stop posting
>>720741615Back in the day every game had an engine built from scratch. Nowadays studios don't do that because there are too many people working on their games, and they outsource work as well. There are like 100+ people who need to be up to speed with the engine, so the only way to do that is to use a cookie cutter woke engine like Unreal. The end product is always bloated slop.
>>720742363>woke engineWhat the fuck am I reading
yeah yeah, whatever queer. I love cute girls in armor.
>>720742363The fuck are you talking about? 90% of everything back in the day was RenderWare slop that ran at 20 frames per second like GTA 3 but no one was crying back then. The hit pieces on UE5 by Bulgarians that can't run games on their 15 year old GPUs is just annoying at this point.
a studio that hasn't released a retail game in nearly 20 years and never made a PC game at all put together something decently optimised in UE5its the fucking lazy bottom dollar jeets ruining everything
also gamedev being taught in unisfuck the shovelware bums who know nothing but unreal 5 classesmake something of yourself elsewhere first
>>720741615>Back when everything had to be coded from scratchRenderware says helloId tech says hello
>>720742004>Somehowit's called the competency crisis, dumbass. Why does the UE5 game run like shit? Because it was programed by a subhuman pajeet and then given to a dumb fucking nigger DEI hire that only got the job because it's a nigger. >but what if that nigger is actually good?Impossible when every learning institution in the land is just giving niggers passing grades because they're niggers.
>>720741615I would give them 80 yurodollars for an at least decent game where the protagonist looks like that.
>>720742703zoomers think every old school dev was a carmack tier savant that would whip up a fully proprietary game engine over a lunch break. They don't know anything about middleware.
>>720741615Corporatizing engines*
it killed AAA videogames*Because it allows devs to easily kick experienced workers who ask for more money than indians who have experience with UE/Unity/etc
wonder how much of UE5 is written by AI
>>720741615no you retard, you're favorite games all used engines. stop jumping on every stupid trend you see and think for yourself
Commercialism killed videogames. It has been slowly killing them for decades. The only difference between 30 years ago and now is the media power big corporations have. You can be sure if Action 52 was released today by a major corpo, devs would've blamed the audience for not appreciating the team's hard work and being entitled and other suchness and you would have videogame bloggers and streamers giving their totally not paid opinion that the game is actually not that bad and you should buy it.
>>720741615Unreal has been a staple engine since fucking Unreal Gold. Remember Splinter Cell? Unreal 2. Deus Ex? Unreal. Stop pretending like it's an engine problem when it's actually a person problem. Devs these days are lazy shitters that don't optimize. Also, your potato PC with a GTX 1070 isn't going to cut it anymore. Graphics have evolved, upgrade your hardware.
>>720741615you're a fucking retard toogo on, tell us about your high level projects that only you and other smart people could hope to achieve, im waiting
>>720741615Back when books had to be written by hand, the difficulty of bookmakong created a barrier of entry where only the smartest, most dedicated people could make it
