In Starfield's case, it actually locks convenience features and full game mechanics behind specific skill trees and then has the audacity to make it deep into them in top of it all ensuring that my best chance to try it at all is to either grind or just accept that I'll only get to try it later and I don't particularly like starfield much. Meanwhile, Hogwarts Legacy actually applies a "gamey" color coded phlegm to combat which you can only economically resolve by investing into those skills, which effectively railroads my progression on top of providing rather lackluster skills as a whole. I don't want to just do combat at Hogwarts
