There's probably other factors, but AI ERP has significantly reduced demand. There's basically no market for low-mid tier games - they lack the interactivity of AI and just going to r34 or pixiv or /h/ is more convenient. They also don't have the quality in story or art to make up for it - AI ERP can't be (easily) used for a good-great long term story, but it's better than cheap nukige plots.The only hope is that game devs start to integrate AI in actually interesting ways (not just churning out slop art). Like for making bigger stories with more branching expanded from a human-written core, creating art and CG variations with some qc, etc.
