It's kinda sad how multiplayer games can't have a legacy anymore now that they all have to be dragged out forever. Like I was thinking if marvel rivals released 15 years ago in its beta state (~20 characters) as an xbox 360 box game, got 3 or 4 balance patches, a dlc character pack a year later, and then the devs just left it running with whatever flaws it still had, that would be a legendary game. People would still reminisce over it today. But given the live service slop framework where marvel rivals was actually created, despite it still having some great aspects to it, in 15 years it'll instead be "remember marvel rivals, yeah that game really fell off quick" because the retarded expectation that they could just pump slop updates out every other week and have it be one of the only games you play when it just doesn't have that much depthI think ironically overwatch was the last game that was immune to this phenomenon (since it was the last big game before fortnite), It still got updates for 3 years but it didn't feel like a modern 'live service' and you still do see people nostalgic for oldschool overwatch
No it wouldn't. This game was designed to be kept afloat with constant updates. It doesn't have the substance or quality to last with no support like a single player game does
>>720778350"Legendary" games are those that are still played today despite their age, like TF2.This game simply does not have enough going on to be this beloved gem. It looks pretty, and that is it.
>>720778350You do know that the game is based on the comics, right? The same comics that have run forever? If anything the comic movies are better off dead so the comics can only rely on this game to survive.Other video games that are not an adaptations don't need to follow.
