>people actually think 64 and Odyssey are better than this
>64yeah>Odysseyeeee nah

>>720781814>>72078185864 falls off after the basement worlds everyone knows this
>>720781890Tick Tock Clock and Tiny Huge Island prove you wrong
>>720781702And Sunshine.
>>720781702They areSunshine tooThe Wii era sucked
>>720782075>>720782095Galaxy 2 has the best level design in 3D Mario its objective fact if you’ve even played it once.
>>720782009Those are worst levels in the game
>>720781702Sunshine is better and im serious
>>7207817022010 was a good year broshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ui4SS7sJfX4
>>720781890Dire Dire Docks is in the basement though and that's the worst level in the game.
>>720781702I thought /v/ disliked the galaxy games, but maybe I'm just projecting. I enjoyed the galaxy games for the first time, but holy shit, I have never seen a game drop off harder upon replay. They are so boring to replay. The first run through was propped up by creativity/ingenuity, but once you've seen the creative ideas, the game is just left with really easy and linear levels, mario's shallowest moveset outside of 3d land, and it jumps from one idea/mechanic so fast that almost none of them get explored or fleshed out
>>720782413>Tiny Huge Islandi can see that>Tick Tock Clockunfiltered KINO
>>720783268i don't hate the level design of tick tock clock, just the sloppy polygon work that makes all the invisible walls that fuck you over in that level
>>720781702I love everything about Galaxy 2 aside from the giant floating Mario head.
>>720783573You mean the FaceShip???
>>720783479Same
>>720783573I love it though. I like how you can recruit characters to your spaceship as the game progresses. It's comfy.
Galaxy 1+2 feel like Mario games made with AI. Like 90% of these games is an unmemorable jumbled mess. The tiny sphere planet gimmick is dumb and makes for boring level design, and the constant forced top-down angle in these segments are a bad fit for a platformer, If they actually designed sandbox levels that wrapped around, that may have been kino. But no, it's just tiny planets with very little visibility and the rest of the game plays like a linear Mario but with shit level design.
>people actually like galaxy 2the fuck
>>720781702it depends on which flavor of 3D Mario you like more. I prefer the more open level/exploration to find the stars and it's equivalents more, but the Galaxies are clearly much better at linear platform challenges and making the most of the game's theming.
>>720781702>game requires even the smallest amount of skill>nuneonuveo/v/ hates itColour me surprised.
>>720787950I thought it was overall a big improvement from Galaxy 1, aside from the spaceship HUB world with Rosalina. The fat purple Luma was pretty chill, so it wasn't too bad.
>>72078170264 is better and odyssey kinda sucks so its a coin toss, but I guess I at least beat galaxy 2
>>720789821This. Galaxy 2 ironically filters them.
The green stars fucking suck.
>>720781702I don't have a nostalgia share for 64 but yes, Odyssey is better. It's more memorable, it's more charming, it's funnier, it looks better, it sounds better (both in sound design and in terms of soundtrack), it's more creative and most importantly, it plays significantly better. Movement in Galaxy feels so limited in comparision.
the best part is that I haven't played the galaxy games yet and now I'll be able to enjoy them on switch 2 it's going to be pure sex
>>720781702Mario 64 had worse graphics, worse level design and a bad camera, but Mario controlled better than he'd ever control after. The Galaxy games are the slowest and most shallow in terms of Mario's movement and moveset, but the compact level design played to its strengths so I can still see why someone would prefer Galaxy over 64 even if I disagree.
>>720782901Sunshine doesn't get enough love. It was such a uniquely atmospheric game (esp. the music). I have such insane nostalgia.
