Can we admit that Starfield was massively overhated on release? I believe it has great potential for a Cyberpunk-level comeback.
no
I played it for like 2 or 3 hours, which was really just the intro section of the game, like how Skyrim or Fallout 3 has some unskippable intro section, but it this game they really drag this shit out. And by the time I got past that stuff I decided I didn't want to see any more of it.This game was all ass and no balls. It didn't have the balls, the mojo, the rizz. It didn't have anything
>>720782356This. If Todd adds nothing but ass and balls in the player's face within the first 15 minutes, maybe replacing that elevator ride with an extended teabagging sequence where every miner unzips his suit to squat over the player's face, Starfield will be saved
>>720781931>Multiversal nihilistic bullshit the game.Starfield was and still is an absolute waste of fucking time.
Starfield is kino, and I'm tired of pretending it's not.
>>720781931>Cyberpunk-level comebackFrom subhuman shit for retards to mere okay video game.
>>720782508the game should start with a blurry dark shape in your face, that moves away and is revealed to be the balls sack, as a man says to you "Hey, you're finally awake"
>>720781931overhated?it single handedly won the award of the worst technical mess of a space game everdo you have any inkling how incredible taking that title right out of the buggy jittery hands of star citizen was?
>>720781931I have it. The ship builder is uncontrollable garbage that cannot handle manipulating an XYZ space
>>720782356>when criticizing a game i like to invo0ke male genitaliawhy are you gay?
>>720781931That opportunity came and went when the first dlc was a big fat wet fart>no snake people ship parts, no new ship parts at all>reskinned guns, only like two actually new ones>everything happens on one planet in a small spaceIt’s fucking dead. Todd pulled all resources to Skyrim 2 to save the company, and even that is going to fail
>>720784679I can't fucking wait for Skyrim 2 to faceplantWhat's the delta between the projected release date and release of Skyrim 1, anyway? 17 years?
>>720781931As someone who played way too much of this game, here are my thoughts:I think the procgen with weighted points of interest ruins the immersive exploration that makes games like Skyrim so memorable. If you find one satellite array or abandoned cryo lab etc, you've seen all of them, because they're all the exact same down to the enemy placements, furniture placements, hidden skeleton with a secret loretape in an air duct, etc, but you keep finding them again over and over. All the hand-built areas and characters in the game are great, but they're few and far between, and all of the procgen implementation and NPCs in the game feel lazy and soulless and repetitive at best, and unforgivably ugly at worst. Every other little flaw in the game exacerbates this lack of interesting exploration, like the fact that there are no truly unique weapons or treasures to find, the "nasa punk" lore is dreadfully mundane, the outpost building is entirely pointless, generic humans all with the same combat AI are the only real enemies in the game, and going through the unity makes all of the above and everything else completely meaningless. even the idea that the unity exists leaves you with a hollow feeling upon finishing the game for the first time, and I just don't see how they can fix that with any DLC that isn't some kind of "it was all a dream" copout followed by a real ending.
>>720781931Good morning sirs.
>>720781931Retarded main story. Needless bloat of hundreds of planets with repeated POIs. Starfield would have to not be Starfield to be good.
It's shit, possibly the worst AAA game of the last decade.
Todd's baby turned out to be a ginger nigger with down syndrome.
>>720781931It was extremely mediocre. Not terrible, not incredible, just a very unimpressive and forgettable experience. Also>Loading screens in 2023
It's the game that made a total laughing stock out of the creation engine.
>>720785224I feel bad for ToddWhether he wanted to make something better and it just didn't turn out that way or whether he genuinely believes they did a good job. They're both equally pitiable
Starfield would have been kino if it was like, a contained set of systems that were all handcrafted and flying between them was No Man's Sky style with pulse jumping, warp drive, and dynamically flying into the atmosphere of planets and being able to fly around or land on the surface, but it just felt like a menu simulator where all you got to do was fast travel to the same 10 copy-pasted dungeons on the same 10 swatches of the same 10 variants of procedurally generated who fucking cares geographically boring planets. No Man's Sky just implemented ship building, too, and it's already better than Starfield's and has 10x the customizability lmao. Shame that game is so shallow otherwise because if it had real meat on its bones it'd be the sci fi GOTYAY
>>720785458I groaned when I heard Starfield would have thousands of planets and couldn't understand why anyone was hyped about it
>>720781931When it was first leaked that going from planet to space was a loading screen I knew it was over.
>>720785450I actually think he genuinely believes Starfield is a great game. He's a total has been; but even if they removed him, Bethesda is still teeming with tranny faggots and niggers so the company is doomed at this point.
>>720785563I think all of us old enough to have played Daggerfall knew better than to think Bethesda creating a "vast procedurally generated universe" was going to be in any way exciting or interesting.
I liked it but it felt very "tech demoey" proc gen is cool but you can only go so far with it before you start to recognize same looking structures and patterns in a map designed by a game engine and not a real person, some of the interior areas are actually well designed with proper clutter like Bethesda does all the time but going outside you're met with samey looking hills and craters and what not, that being said the game game is super compounded by its technical limits which I did not like. Its overhated, yes absolutely, but I think at this point all of the AAA dev and their games are hated on /v/. (sans From Software due to favoritism).
>>720781931
no one plays this shitty game anymoreNMS is just the best space game. NO REFUNDS TransField palyers
In an ideal world we wouldn't be glorifying "comebacks" the game would hit the ground running on launch instead of needing a gazillion post launch patches and content drip feeds to be good. It's like Early Access only without the honesty of admitting that you're playing a beta build.
Is seamless space travel in yet?
>>720781931>bethesda>comeback
It is possible, but they would need to hire some writers that aren't "Better Man"/"Karen" approved. Like, a writer that pretty much all women would hate. They need that guy.
>>720781931It's a game about exploration that uses up all its unique locations in the first ten hours and just becomes endless copy pasted POIs for the rest of the game. It got as much hate as it deserved.
>>720781931If it has any sort of comeback it won't be because of Bethesda, it'll be because it's singlehandedly being carried by the star war mods.
>>720781931have you played it? it's fucking awful
>massively overhated on release? It's still massively overhated now. It's not even the worst game in its genre. No Man's Slop still hasn't fixed its worse gameplay loop and just adds shallow, disappointing content while barely making broken features any better. Elite Dangerous quickly becomes a grind both in learning how to enjoy it and then actually playing it. It actually works unlike Star Citizen. Meanwhile people hate Starfield more than games that actually steal their money, shut down themselves down on certain platforms, or have way less content. I get hating Starfield but I've never seen a game 24/7 get shat on like this.
Dead dogshit game
