Well just i beat grandmother silk and have moved to act 3. Storywise im not sure what was going with grandmother silk. My initial thoughts when playing through the game is that the being at the top of the citadel was keeping the abyss at bay by infusing every creature with silk. I knew had a hunch the abyss was involved due to some statues leaking black stuff out of their eyes

Great game, not sure I'd ever want to replay it. Goddamn my hands hurt from some of those platforming sections, especially to the surface. Main criticisms are gauntlets before boss fights, shards are still a dumb/pointless mechanic (full 90% of the time, only blow through them when bad at a boss), a few too many bosses with off-screen attacks, way too many secret areas that just give maybe 20 rosaries or shards that immediately fly into a pit, and equipment felt way less interesting mechanically than charms in the first game.Otherwise, phenomenal bosses, exploration, music, art, and the story was arguably more coherent and better told this time around. Great game, don't think my hands could do a replay though.
