If you're 30+ you probably understand this but the expectation back in the day was that Nintendo would rerelease their games on their portables. So you had SMB on the GBC, Mario World on the GBA, Mario 64 on the DS, etc. That meant that the rereleased games were cheaper since they were portable games. You'd have Wii games like XC1 on the 3DS as well and that was a cheaper price point because it was a portable game. The games that weren't like this were on the virtual console where they were $5 to $20, so even cheaper than the portable ports. What's happened is that by merging their divisions, Nintendo has gotten rid of the cheaper price points that remakes were usually at. With that in mind, the price of Galaxy/Galaxy 2 actually line up perfectly with being a $40 portable release but the problem is that they were $20 virtual console releases on the Wii U so that's why you see a lot of older Nintendo fans so upset about the pricing. But you'll see people upset with their other rereleases that are $60 because they should be $40 max.
