NSMB is solid on its own and most people enjoyed it since it was the first 2D Mario game in a long time.NSMBWii was a fine sequel and improvement on it, but NSMB2 was pretty fucking pointless.

I know when I first played it as a kid I sucked ass at it but over the years I've gotten to where I can plow through the first 5 or so worlds without dying. Honestly I've played SMB3 so much in comparison to the other 2D Mario's that I'm better at that game than I am all the other ones.

The levels are too spacious and bland, and requires multiple people to actually be fun. 2 is a piece of shit and I do not understand the people who place it anywhere but the bottom. By far the most soulless of the bunch, exemplified by having next to no original music, just using Wii's OST with even more "bahs" jammed in. U was fun solo AND with friends, and managed some more unique setpieces and mechanics here and there. I remember being especially fond of the level with the giant mechanical Bowser arm. Nothing groundbreaking, just a solid time.
