A magical button has appeared before you. Upon pressing it, all of the following will come true:
>Physical releases for AA and AAA games are the norm again
>You get an optional steam / online store code
>Thick instruction booklet included
>No more gacha / micro-transactions / DLC bullshit / day 1 patches. Games are fully playable and "done" on day 1.
>Early access games are banned.
>Games are 3x as expensive ($180 for AAA, $120 for AA, $60 for an average indie game)
Do you press it?
>>

Unironically, incredibly, irrevocably based

Toss in a mandatory GPL-3 release of the source code after a year or two and we've got a deal.
>>
>Physical releases the norm
Eugh, stopped there. Fuck no. Digital is the tits.

I truly, honestly, 100% believe it. Ever since Steam started ramping up I've probably only bought like two or three physical games. Digital is fantastic. I still have an old CD rack and 2 boxes of mostly PC, PS, and PS2 games knocking around and I hate em. They just take up space and keep getting shoved around from one spot to another but I can't bring myself to trash those. I'm super happy I don't have another 15 years of physical games I bought on Steam. Just more shit taking up room and being in the way. I truly love digital games.
