Yeah I had the same experience with the old God of War games, ended up finishing both on rpcs3

>>720797954Favorite of the three?
>>720800014not op. my heart says 3 cause it got me into the series, but practically i've played 1 and 4 once, 3 three or four times, and 2 at least once a year since i bought it over a decade ago.

>>720800014In the past, I would have said 2, maybe even 3, depending on when you asked me. But as of late, I've had a renewed appreciation for 1, strangely enough. It has a tightness and clarity of purpose that I didn't really appreciate until I came back to it much later. There are parts of 2 and 3 I find kind of tedious or contrary to the core gameplay, and while the highs are absolutely higher for 2 and 3, and I prefer those stories by far, 1 just doesn't have any lows. Yes, that means I have developed a fondness for the awkward race levels, Down Home Cookin' and all the vehicle and turret sections. They're not nearly as bad as I had remembered, and I found their difficulty satisfying instead of frustrating. At the very least, I enjoy them more than the equivalents in the other two games.
