>uhh we need a descriptor and an animal

Wormhole weasel actually sounds cool.

What's not cool is something like Izzy glow.
>>
>>720799410
>an animal
Then what the fuck was Infinity Mijinion? Also, Axle the Red was a plant.

fuck you, the original x5 names were kino

Wormhole weasel sounds pretty cool actually. Gives the impression of Kamaitachi type boss but it warps around shooting air slashes through portals so you have to use Engage Eagle's homing MIRV missiles to hit him when the portal opens.

He's a water flea. That's why his super power is bubbles and cloning himself.

he could extend himself like a slinky through all the portals
>>
>>720799763
we already have two storms, do we really need two eagles
>>
>>720799763
you have to shoot him through the wormholes without shooting yourself. if you try to shoot him the normal way he just flees into a wormhole
>>
>>720800374
There can never be enough eagles. If you insist then maybe Target Tomcat or Reload Raptor as alternatives.
>>
>>720800486
I don't think maverick names alliterate all that much
>>
>>720800556
If we get an alliterative weasel then it's only fair we get an alliterative jet bird of prey.
>>
>>720799410
Is that really any different from the original Mega Man having "_____ Man" 8 times per game? (and a woman 1 time)
>>

imagine a punch penguin or catalyst cheetah or copy capybara or kick kiwi or electric eel

They scream just the same. Hubbard was right
>>
>>720804257
That gets the noggin a turning. Biological mechanisms like these exist because they're beneficial to the organism and make it through natural selection. There that raises the question, what is listening to them and what are they doing about the millions screaming out for them?
>>
>>720805375
Traits can also continue to exist after they stop being useful if they're not being selected against, or if they are paired with some other genuinely useful thing.

Genetics can be wack, sometimes a useful trait is paired with a useless trait. Sometimes a potentially useful trait doesn't evolve because it is paired with a deleterious trait. We can trigger the gene for muscular hypertrophy in cows but unlimited growth is bad if you don't have the food to sustain it.

It could be that the plants have some subtle response to these signals, like the equivalent of plant minor hormonal changes. It might be that some plant ancestor used to have a response and they don't any more, but the signalling itself is not a negative so it persists.

Evolution is wack, and it's not "just" that any trait that is good evolves and any trait that is bad disappears.

>and it's not "just" that any trait that is good evolves and any trait that is bad disappears.
Oh? Do you have any examples of negative traits that evolved over generations? I don't mean recessive genes that bring on diseases, I mean a trait that stays as a typical part of a species that actively burdens them in terms of survival rates.

Human (homo sapiens) teeth.
Neanderthals had a premolar gap, we don't. This means they didn't suffer the same tooth crowding that we do, and had neanderthals been the homos that made the final leap to what behaviourally modern humans do today, they would likely not need braces and have fucked up jaws like we do.

The significant growth of brain case size in genus homo vs other hominids has a bunch of downsides, but they are outweighed by the sheer expansive potential of what the brain can do. Jaws had to cope, gestation periods lengthened, childhood helplessness was lengthened
>comparatively long and intensive gestation + comparatively altricial children are traits of most "very intelligent" animals, see also the long gestation of elephants and parrots and the adorable clumsiness of baby elephants and the utter helplessness of parrot hatchlings
>but I am disgressing so I'll stop

Comparatively, Neanderthals probably also had skull features that would cause them medical disadvantages if they became similar to behaviourally modern homo sapiens - maybe their massive sinuses would've meant that neanderthal ENTs had more plumbing to deal with. There is no way to know for sure.

Except X3, X4 and X6 skipped on it I guess

Shame we never got any female mavericks in the games 8 stage and boss lineup like how the robot masters eventually had Splash Woman.
