higher resolutions are a scam, only unplayably ugly games benefit from 1440p/4K because devs were too lazy to make their graphics work properly in 1080p (Full HD).

"Higher resolutions bad cuz im poor and forced to play old clunky games from 30 years ago"

Actually you do "need" more, around 12K to 16K that way aliasing stop being a problem.
Anything beyond that? Pure snake oil.

Depends on the screen size. For 24", about 6k is enough. For full visual field coverage, 32k is about enough.

I'm actually considering retro-pedaling back to 1080p 24" for my next setup. My 3070 and Ryzen 5600 are supposed to run games at 2k 120 fps but it's not consistent enough especially with unoptimized games who aren't rare.
I need a pc that can my achieve my target without a sweat, I never want to worry about temps or stutters.
>>
honest question, does selecting higher resolutions matter at all if you have a 1080p screen? I was emulating bloodborne a while back and I didn't notice any difference at 4k aside from it taking more effort to run from my GPU

no

how does a man stay retarded for so many years?

Yes, it's called downsampling and decreases aliasing tremendously.
>>
>>720807504
Increasing resolution is the most noticeable graphical improvement you can have.
>>

Don't bother. I have 4070TI and ryzen 9.
I cannot hit 120hz in 1440p in many games.
Just get freesync/g-sync monitor and cap framerate by riviatuner. There is always a value where you don't get drops and stutters. Also, you should never worry about temps because hardware does it for you.

>saar you must redeem the nvidia!!!
>>
1440p is a fucking meme because it will only look good when playing games. When you see a 1080p video the scaling will smear pretty bad. 4k in the other hand is fully compatible with 1080p scaling.
>>
I cant even tell the difference between 720p and 1080p, all you retards are so spoiled by modern tech its insane
>>
>>720812972
720p literally looks twice as good as 1080p
You have 0.9M pixels in 720p and 2M pixels in 1080p
To even imply it's not a noticeable change is disingenupus
>>
>>720812972
Here is a quick webm demonstrating the difference
