Seeing the discourse over the new game i gotta ask, why is the Fire Emblem fanbase so toxic to the point where they even hate people in their own fanbase?
Seriously, i have seen nothing but hating on people who aren't interested in the game and in fighting over within the fanbase itself over the game's style and gameplay.
What happened? Did the fanbase just get too big for its own good?

because the games have changed far too much about themselves over the past decade combined with a rapid influx of fans since the 3ds era and you end up with a fanbase that you aren't guaranteed to like the same games as another anymore.
Hell I don't even like the switch era but that's too spicy of an opinion for anyone that has joined the fandom since 2018.

The modern Fire Emblem fanbase is like 1/3 people who enjoy anime games (based) and 2/3 normalfags who champion SJW issues and will call you a weeaboo for playing anything more Japanese than Persona (not based).
