You know, I used to see a lot of people talk shit about this game, but I feel like it serves an important job. It's not as ground breaking as BOTW was, but it's like the filler game you play between shit you look forward to. It's not nearly that memorable, but it's consistently great. People say it's like DLC and it's not entirely wrong, but it's a bit too diminutive. It's more like a great game with not much innovation. A true "sequel that doesn't add much because the base was already perfect". Like going from gothic 1 to gothic 2. BOTW was already great and TOTK knew it, so they mostly stuck to giving you more. I would even go as far as arguing that being DLC would've maybe even added a bit more, because starting totk with low HP/stamina was kinda a detriment. I generally like the idea of batteries, but if the game was a DLC it could've focused more on that instead of having the balance around having 3 gauges that you need to fill from the start. Basically what I'm trying to say is they could've made it technically more complex centered around building machinery.
