You just have to sit through a bad on-rails low rank story first and deal with a lot of annoying things like western-ized character designs and so on. I don't like Focus Mode but you can simply ignore it for the most part if you're already good at the games. Even for a base MH it was on the easier side but they've apparently been adding harder stuff, I haven't gone back since launch though. I just didn't upgrade my armor and delayed upgrading weapons to get a better level of challenge back when I was playing it. Rise is still my favorite modern MH by far but Wilds is still enjoyable if you really like MH's combat like I do. I played on PS5 and the performance was fine enough for me but I guess it's a huge deal or something for whiny PC fags. The different weather conditions make a lot of the environments really gray and unappealing most of the time however.

I don't think fps has ever affected my enjoyment of an action game ever. Higher fps is better and and I can visually see the difference between 30/60 but I feel like people put way too much importance on it when it's really not that big of a deal. Frequent game crashing or bugs that stop game progression or cause things like audio to glitch out are a big deal however but I didn't have any of that during my time with Wilds. I have a lot of issue with Wilds but performance really wasn't one of them.

New monsters don't feel right design wise. You get these two blob like monsters and you have to fight them in tiny arenas. They 'designed' two fucking blobs There's no preparation there's no need to build out a capable item box to support you. Think about this now you start a quest and press up and you are automatically taken to the monster while you scroll tiktok. Before you had 4 options either you walk , use psychoserum, wave to the balloon or have learnt monsters patterns already.Now you get free heals constantly, the guild box on sekriet, you get environmental heals and cat heals plus you pick up honey and herbs a metre away from each other and autocraft mega potions mid battle plus being able to restock endlessly.The 'game' has taken every little bit of friction between you and the monster. the series is dead and that's why it becomes these stupid mmo type dps check instakill bosses. they need to find a way to put back the friction and let players suffer a littleAlso I bought the paypig edition and it's disgusting that they released further paid dlc items before even completing the two prepaid packs

Im sure some aspects have improved since but the game running like shit even on recent hardware (i have a radeon 6700xt) certaintly hasnt. If you're looking for more monhun rise, GU, and World all go on sale for 10 bucks pretty frequently. World's player count on steam is consistently higher than wilds.

anyone else not like that they've moved any semblance of difficulty to 9 star monsters, its kinda retarded having so many different versions of monsters, what's the point of arch tempered monsters if there's regular tempered monster variants stronger than them, adding the difficulty to endgame value changes is just fucking lame and doesn't feel satisfying at all, I felt so motivated in past entries to slowly beat my way through the games list of monsters, victories felt earned, that i was climbing towards something, now its designed like an MMO where the only thing that matters is the endgame, I have no motivation to beat the same enemies I've already beaten dozens of times if I'm not working towards something, it's garbage.
