The actual skate mechanics are mostly really good but at the same time a lot of the mechanics also need some polish. There's a bunch of new tricks and stuff that are great for more grounded skating, and then there's also a huge emphasis on teleporting on top of skyscrapers to spread eagle dive into the top of another building shaped like a mega ramp or for extreme ragdoll bails.

Some tips for new players:
1. Go to sound options, turn VO Volume to 0 AND below that turn "Gameplay Vee Comments" off.
2. Close all menus, press left on dpad to open social menu, go to settings, and turn off Quick Drop objects showing from other players not in your party or friends list.
3. You'll eventually hit one of the "Tour" quests that wants you to invite someone to a party and do a co-op challenge. You can skip this, just look in the start menu, Missions page and you'll see the next Tour and how many challenge goals you have to do to unlock it, just do regular challenges until you get to that and leave the mandatory social shit behind. Unless you actually have friends or whatever.

I personally think the game *overall* feels really good but there's a lot of weird shit. Grind magnetism and pumping just feel inconsistent. Seemed to peak at about 75-80k on Steam so far, staying around there for now. Might bump up as people get home from work, and a bit more on the weekend but I'm not sure it'll be huge because by that time I think some people will be bouncing off already. As a sandbox skate game it's great but without a bunch of game modes and story to keep people who aren't into spending hundreds of hours just on sandbox skating interested it'll probably not do amazingly well.

I honestly think it does grounded skating really well. There's definitely a lot space dedicated to skateparks and megaramp type stuff around, and a bunch of plazas have a lot of dead space, but I still find plenty of really fun spots. I'm working on my settings and workflow to do clips for these threads which I hope to highlight cool lesser traveled spots and some new tricks/features. There's also the big suburban area you can see to the north across the water that will probably open up in a few months.
