Watching Max's stream of the game, the short clips from trailers and the previews didn't really do justice or explain properly how the combat works. Honestly the only part that felt souls like was the boss, but only on a surface level.The long histop seems to be only for certain attacks (like focus heavy ones). The enemies usually react and stagger when you hit them with a heavy or focus attack vs a light attack, hence why you see so much in footage the enemies not responding to attacks. It's because they're just spamming light attacks and nothing else. The game really disincentivizes you from button mashing, especially with all the other systems.Some of the preview footage probably looked so clunky because they're just bad at the game and haven't grasped the mechanics. The fact one of them said the boss took 5 HOURS is especially bullshit because both streams I watched beat the boss in 5 minutes. Seeing someone competent like Max play the game gave a way better idea of how the gameplay flows than the trailers or previews.
