So i just defeated the boss in the castle, when does this game get good? Also what is my goal here? Why am i killing the bosses? I know in dark souls 1 it was some shit about lighting the fire, or whatever. In dark souls 2 it was trying to lift the undead curse. Dark souls 3 I didn't play. But in Elden Ring the emerald herald rip off speaks in riddles and literal gibberish. Some shit about fingers and graces, is she schizophrenic? Who are the tarnished ones?

The tldr is that Gods came from meteorites in space and gave power to humanity. Marika, the human who was basically the vessel for this God power, shattered the Elden Ring, leaving this power vacuum that led to a big war that ruined the world. But like with dark souls, some random exiled soldier (you) is destined to return one day and take the empty throne to lead the world with the power of God once more.This probably isn't even a good or accurate representation but it's the central narrative thrust of the game.
Everything is fucked up, the gods are evil and retarded and you have to kill them. If you’ve killed Godrick, who I assume is the boss in the castle, then this all should be fairly obvious by now at least in the broad strokes. It’s just dark souls but undead = tarnished and fire = grace

I liked it like in 2nd game you had very obvious hints it's all reincarnation. Elden ring feels very similar with the first area being a castle like in dark souls 1 and dark souls 2 even the design is very similar where you climb the walls and use alternative rout to bypass the main gate
