I can't comprehend how you don't like Chrono Trigger, /v/
i cant comprehend how u think selecting "attack" from a menu is fun
>>720938709It's nothing special.
>2dhd>shitty dub because of course>overpriced>denuvokeep it, mr squaremenixem
>>720939142>forgets that crono will also speak
>>720938709>braindead easy, simplistic gameplay with 0 strategy involved>writing quality ranges from bad to mediocreNo matter how much you polish the presentation (which is nothing special, plenty of way more atmospheric games) and the music (ditto) if the fundamental gameplay and writing is bad, then it's a shit game.
>>720938709Remember when Yoko Taro said the same thing about Nier 1 just a few months before Replicant HD was announced?
>>720938709As a kid, I tried playing it, I got to the fair where the girl disappears in the time machine or whatever, and I just thought, "I don't care. This isn't interesting to me." I tried again like 15 years later and it literally happened again, I just didn't care. I think maybe I just find the game visually cluttered or something, maybe it triggers my autism.
>>720938709I grew out of rpgs
>Story is a half dozen Doctor Who episodes crammed into one incohesive sequence>Characters havebcool designs for the most part but have no memorable aspects about them beyond the visual>Gameplay sucks
>>720939142HD2D is a great style and I'm tired of pretending it's not. Both Octopath Travelers, Triangle Strategy, Live-A-Live, and Dragon Quest III phenomenal.
>>720938709Chrono Trigger is only considered a classic because Star Ocean 1 and Tales of Phantasia were not released on SNES outside Japan.
I think the only glaring issue is that the cutscenes are often changed based on who is in your party. Not a bad idea on paper until you remember the protagonist is FUCKING MUTEJust put the whole party in every cutscene to show their reactions.
