Health is a resource that is much more valuable than gold. Take it slow, avoid rushing without clearing the area first. This is unironically the biggest piece of advice you can have. It is NEVER worth sacrificing your health for some gold, at least not for a new player.

As an experiment, try fully exploring the first area of the map without your health dropping below 75. If you can do that reliably, then you can start getting into more advanced strategies, such as not having to take the full heal in the Holy Mountain (you can come back to it later by digging through the holy mountain rock).

Once you reach the second area you should aim for going to the left, in the fungal caverns. It is a fairly dangerous area, but you can find wands with spells that are really important.

Good combos:
Black hole with accelerating projectile
Long distance cast and any form of teleportation bolt

Having either teleport or black hole, for an experienced player, is already enough to signify a god run.

Doing the 33 orbs made me take a break from the game, it was so fucking gay. I even had a working parallel world teleporting wand and it was still annoying. Lost my save recently and GOG didn't back it up, but I am definitely NOT going that shit again.

Anyway, the best part of the game is the buildup of your OP wands. Godruns are so fucking boring that most of the time I just end it at the work so I can move on with my life. MAYBE do a couple of side bosses in the main world if I really had fun with the current build.

Chip damage? Essentially never fight those slime ball shooters from within a range where they can shoot you. Always fight projectile shooters from around corners and from a good distance. Tick damage from toxic and on fire are very easily the biggest contributors for taking chunks of your health early. Also, the shotgun fuckers, you need a way to kill them instantly, or from a very long distance. If you do not meet these two requirements, do NOT fight them. Their attacks deal 40 damage. Health is very important find hearts if you can because each gives you more time to explore the next level. Also for damage wands early on just grab whatever spell with trigger you find and throw a random double or triple spell on it with whatever rubbish spells you've picked up so far, that will normally do 30+ damage which is enough to kill most things in the early game easily.

I gave up on tablet football long time ago: I just speed through the Mines, genociding everything normally, in ~10 minutes. This gets you all the potential hearts and this will net you the ~600 gold you need in the first HM, 97% of the time. After that money pretty much becomes a non-issue.

I tried the Entangled Worlds mod with a group of friends and holy shit. It's so much harder the more people you add. Hiisi Base is the most difficult segment of the game compared to your power level upon reaching it. Here's some ways to maximize the options available to you by then.
>Clear as much of the previous floors as possible
This sounds like a no-brainer, but improving your survivability on each floor increases how many wands/potions/spells/health+ you stumble upon. Personally, I find the 2nd floor to be the most important for my run, since it's common to find at least teleporting or digging on that floor.
>Escape holy mountains without breaking them, preferably without angering the Gods
Teleporting is the easiest option, but in a pinch polymorphing can sneak you in and out. The more chances you have to edit you wand, the more you can upgrade your kit
>Focus on improving your kit
The kit I usually strive for to hit a god run is my attack wand, my travel wand, and my digging wand. Sometimes these can be fused together depending on what you find. Attack wand is self-explanatory. You want something that can hit hard and/or fast. Travel wand is generally your teleport spells. If you can't find any teleport bolts, a trigger and a return can work in a pinch. Digging wands are how you get through terrain. Drills are ideal for early game, especially on the 2nd floor. Luminous drill can cut through everything, but is slow as shit unless you can dump a ton of mana into it. Black/white hole is usually your main goal for a god run, especially finding a way to get infinite use out of.
>general tips
Avoid taking damage, especially chip damage. Until you find a way to reliably heal yourself, health is your most valuable resource. Don't jump into the fog of war after a falling piece of gold. Make sure to quickly remove fire and sludge before they chip too much of your health away. Always carry water for this purpose and keep it refilled at every opportunity.
Make use of potions. Teleportium, Ambrosia, Pheromone, and even Polymorphium are extremely useful if used cleverly.

noita is a strange game in that it's filled with a bunch of bullshit that will instantly kill you that exists mostly as a knowledge check more than anything.
but once you figure out like half the game, it becomes stupid easy because the devs didn't bother balancing any of the high level spells to keep anything any amount of difficult.

Agree to disagree: It does however require a big change in playstyle. You can still get through (most of) Hiisi Base with only a Energy Sphere or whatever ghetto shit you've accumulated getting there, but you're now playing Metal Noita Solid. Only fuck with basic hiisi and their soldiers, never get close to the robots or tier 2 hiisi niggers, and make sure to always make use of line-of-sight: Lob shots over edges or let loose and quickly move behind a hanging cable.
If you get hold of a Luminous Drill you can clear 85% of the base by luring enemies close and drill them through the walls. And if you've found a Chain Bolt you literally can't die until reaching the Jungle.

The biggest problem with this game is the order in which you get spells. Once you learn the mechanics, there's very little variety of wands which you will create by the time you get to Hiisi base. It's either chainsaw + whatever machine gun, a sniper shot that abuses criticals and exponential damage multipliers, or a homing wand.
Every other time I have a cool idea for a wand I will either have no use for it, or I won't have to spells for it.

Learn Wand Crafting
Chainsaws, while mostly useless as a spell normally, are OP as fuck. Not only do they reduce the Reload(Refresh) time of a wand, they also SET Cast time to 0. If you Multi-cast with a chainsaw, set it as the last spell in the block and it will try to set Cast Delay to 0.

Wand Wrapping, is when the last spell on a wand (no shuffle) needs another spell to be cast (like a double cast, or a modifier) so it wraps to the first spell on the wand and tries to cast that. If it can't, it'll cast every spell on the wand till it finally finds something to cast until it reaches itself.

That's a lot of options for attack wants with a wide range of variety. Early game you've gotta make due with what you've got, so the flavor of your wand will be different every time. You can also try out the challenge runs, like Pacifist or No Gold to really switch up your strategies.

I used to agree but then I stopped being a little bitch and actually fucking around with spells I like over the cookie-cutter god combos.
Once you go over 95%+ winrate and the game becomes free, if you play by the book you bore yourself to death because every run becomes the same if you play optimal spell combos and routes.
What kept me playing past 500h with (almost) every pillar has been 5-15 minute clears, those really push you and keep it fun every run
