Lenovo fucked up the preorder for the Legion Go 2

The one retard dumb enough to buy this instead of the Switch 2 like the rest of human civilization must be really mad.
>>
>Running all the way up to $1350, the Lenovo Legion Go 2 is making no attempt to hide its premium edge.
Z1E bros, how are we holding up?

The person buying this is buying this as a gaming laptop substitute
>>
The market for these portable PC handhelds can't be that large, how are there so many different ones?
>>
>>720967113
Valve doesn't officially sell the Deck to 2/3rd of the rest of the world so these chinks seek to fill the vacuum by selling overpriced shits since they don't get the luxury to sell their device at a loss and make it up with game sales from the steam store like Valve and the Deck.
>>
retards paying for massively marked up shit deserve it
have some respect for yourself and your money
>>
>>720966979
That's retarded because you're going from
>built in keyboard, bring your own controller
to
>built in controller, bring your own keyboard

I sold my deck OLED for $540 around a $50 loss but I only put a cheap $20 case and screen protector.

Took the money and bought a used 5800X3D and the rest I used on a new CPU fan, mech keyboard and a mouse for my AM4 PC and repasted it.

Will probably buy the deck 2 if its $700 any more than that IDK.
At least 1080p OLED 90hz with the same processing as the Z2 or 1080p IPS 105% SRGB with VRR at 90hz.

If it doesn't have at least those combination of specs im not buying. The main problem why I sold my steam deck is its so underpowered so the form factor is useless compared to an ROG ally.

The z1 extreme at 1080p low on elden ring can play the game at 55fps+ easily but it has no trackpads.

The deck OLED can barely go above 35fps at 800p, and yes this is with the 4GB RAM bios setting and tweaks.

Bought this for 800€ two years ago with 1TB NvME and 32GB LPDDR5X RAM. It's still unmatched in value. Also has 8'' display so you can play modern games on it without getting migraine.

>docking station with monitor, kb and mouse for computer mode stuff or playing on big screen
>can pick it up and play games anywhere when you want to sit on the couch or lay in bed or whatever
is how I imagine most people will use these things. Could see a lot of people preferring this form factor if they're primarily using it at home and mostly for gaming with light computer use on the side. There's a lot of people that use laptops like desktop PCs they only occasionally take on trips.

I bought a used Z1E for 280 bucks shipped. Came with a cheap carrying case and a knock off charger. Seeing all these 'new' handhelds bring only "iterative bumps" (as DF put it) at a 600+ $/€ price point brings me joy.
I'd love a cheapo Z1E device with an OLED screen (at 1080p). Not sure why that hasn't been made. These companies really are clueless
>>
>>720968224
It made sense when these things were like $600-700. Now they're literally twice the price and you're getting a castrated laptop with a shitty screen, shitty speakers, and no keyboard or touchpad. The 258V and Z2 Extreme are dogshit SoCs. They're meant for ultrathin shitstains. If this were 2012 they'd be used in $300 netbooks
>>

Z2E is a high end SoC buddy
>>
>>720970293
it's barely more powerful than the Z1E, which was a cheap chip for cheap devices as >>720968389
said, he got one with it for $280.
I like the idea of these deck-likes but they need to be way cheaper or more performant for the price.
>>
Actually, it’s sold out on every store just like the Steam Deck was.

Demand is very high. This is the Switch 2 killer.
>>
>>720970293
You can literally buy gaming laptops with a Zen 5 soc and a laptop 5070 for the same price as the Legion Go 2

You think it’s a good idea to waste 800€ on a handheld?
>>
>>720970657
That's actually really good value for such a high end laptop. But 16'' is barely laptop territory anymore.
>>
>>720971259
People are dumb. They see the price of a 400€ Switch or PS5 and think it's a steal. Then they have to buy online subscription and then a couple of games and an extra controller and before they know it, they've spent 1000€ on an inferior product with extremely limited capabilites.

I haven't spent a single Euro extra on my handheld. All the games I play I already own on Steam or just pirate. I don't need to pay for extra storage or online access. The handheld also doubles a portable PC and I can use it for some tasks where using my desktop PC is not ideal. I bring it to work sometimes and play during the grave yard shift.

It's well worth it considering what you pay for everything else these days.

Nothing personal, kid
I bought this as backup to my Deck OLED and to my surprise, it is pretty great. Can play RDR2 at 1080p 60fps stable and XeSS is miles better than FSR.

This handheld war is going to become a shitshow in 2028 when we have the Switch 2, Steam Deck 2, PS6 handheld, and Xbox partner handheld using a Magnus APU variant. Nintendo and Valve are going to win this hard. I can also see the PS6 home console, Xbox partner living room PC for next year and the Magnus variant in 2029 along with the first-party Xbox home console in 2027 all being failures. Glad Valve isn't all that interested in getting back in the living room with a Steam living room box as Fremont could happen or not and signs are indicating that it won't happen at all.
>>
I was to slow to buy a rog ally z1 extreme at $400 deal like 4 months and now I either can't find one from local stores or delivery is said to be in around 20 days. I instead got a refurbished deck oled 512 for $450. I don't really regret getting the Deck but I wonder if the z1 extreme would be way better than it
>>
>>720974617
I think the MSI Claw with the 8'' display and Z1E chip is the best handheld right now. Not sure about that dpad though.
>>
>>720974813
They have their pros and cons each. SD has that awesome OLED display which is also larger and that alone puts it at a distinct advantage over Rog Ally. It also has better battery life. The Z1E chip is superior at 15W and above but if you're playing games that demanding you need to basically get a battery mod or an Rog Ally X. I do prefer the form factor of Ally more, as SDOLED is too big and bulky for my taste.
>>
>>720970194
Absolutely nailed it. These companies are acting like cramming a phone-tier SoC with a fan into a bulky handheld makes it worth $900+. At least the Deck made sense as a loss leader with Steam integration and a decent community around it. These new devices just feel like desperate OEMs trying to cash in on hype with garbage thermal design and sketchy software. Can't wait for them to be clearance bin e-waste by next year when Deck 2 wipes the floor with all of them.
>>
>>720967113
If they weren't selling, GPD would've gone out of business a long time ago
>>

In case you haven't heard: Deck 2 in 2028, sweaty - 2027 at earliest!

i don't see the difference, tendie
>>
>>720967512
except for gaming 70% of the keyboard is useless and you still need to bring a mouse, even if you don't game. Laptops suck for gaming.
The only reason to have one is if you are extremely limited in space or live some kind of jet set high life where you are never at home.

I wouldn't want to constantly carry around big $1000 devices on normal trips either. Once cheap retro handhelds (sub $200) reach like PS2/PS3 emulation and possibly play most 2D indie games we are golden.
Game streaming could actually shine there if you really want to play something more demanding

Make sure to check the TDP on that 5070 first, for some reason some models are set so low they're outperformed by a laptop 4060 with adequate power draw. I almost picked up a 5070 laptop because it was so cheap the other day, then I looked online for reviews and it was set at 65W or something retardedly low like that
>>
Any chance we'll get some good deals on the Z1E handhelds this year or have the tariffs killed any chance of that? Last black friday it was easy to find a Z1E Ally for under $400
