Both remakes of previous tes games and all Beyond Skyrim expansions are still not a thing. There should be multiple competing complete overhauls of a base game and yet there is nothing. All those big projects just release endless trailers and jerk off on discords while doing nothing. All of them have some weird autistic fixation on only releasing entire mod all at once, when it's fully done thus not releasing anything at all, which no other modding community does this way. Countless frameworks and nothing utilizing them. There is even a working framework for seamless custom perk integration and nobody reworked skill tree properly still.It's so pathetic. And yet people still have the gall to call Skyrim modding community great and an exemplar of such community. It's nothing but disconnected asset spam of worthless skins for slut posing.

I followed skyrim modding very actively from early 2012 till the release of SE, then took a hiatus and dove into SE modding in 2019-2021, then another hiatus and another deep dive a bout a year ago. The graphical and animation mods that have been introduced over the years are the only high quality work in the entire community. Gameplay overhauls mostly suck shit, with the most popular ones being the ones that try to turn the combat into fromsoft shit despite skyrim being unsuited for it. Dungeon overhauls are non existent despite dungeons being recognized as one of skyrims biggest issues, theres no good quest mods (most quest mods somehow manage to be even worse overly scripted spaghetti code shit than the base game quests, and then theres the ones with voice "acting"), theres few good mob mods and nothing AIO to give you the enemy variety that Morrowind or Daggerfall had though you can jerryrig a bunch of separate mob mods together to get something. Some interesting projects like that one mod that tried to expand the civil war into having active random skirmishes and restore some of the cut content died out while still in an early stage, mods to fix the awful thieves guild or college of winterhold quests are shit and only serve to pretty up these locations.14 years of modding and all we have been getting are perpetually better ways to make the game look prettier, its fucking dire

I've never been able to get these mods centered around dynamically applying wet effects to skin to work over the years. They always work on clothing and what not just fine, but not the skin. Wonder if it's some weird issue with ENB settings or some shit causing skin effects like that to not show up right.
