People need gas and thus must stop at your station especially if you have a good location, it's can literally not be optional. This means when they do your chance of selling them marked up food and drinks is quite high. The other is they tend to not be subjected to some of the same zoning that liquor stores, smoke shops and supermarkets are so you can have a store that sells all of those really close to a bunch of residential zoning. This makes you the go to place for smokes, booze and last minute marked-up-groceries for the people living nearby.
