Because they've done nothing to prove an empty desert or a motorcycle will improve the game in any way. It's their responsibility to justify adding what currently looks like an empty field with bad textures and a motorcycle with animations that have about three frames and look comical. I fucking love Metroid, and I'm sincerely worried this game is going to be a handful of fantastic areas glued together with absolute time-wasting shit. I could be wrong, but it's their job to prove it.
