>new sailing skill coming soon
>the best MMO on the market with some of the best questlines, skills, bossing and content
>actual real goals and accomplishments like firecape, infernal cape
>Your progress is permanent actually means something with gear prestige from wearing it and skills unlike in WoW and FF14

Why aren't you playing it?
>>
RS3 better though.

Just not worth it anymore.

It has one of the best tutorials in all of MMO's and the most nostalgic quests.
>>
>>721015416
Eh partially. RS3's problem is that it's a fucking mess, its a mess to look at, the lore is a fucking mess, the aethestic is a mess of sixth/fifth age content simulatenously existing, the mechanics are a mess.
Very confusing
>>
UO better though also
>paying to play runescape in 2025

I'd rather wait for leagues with sailing
Playing RS3 leagues right now, better than the last OSRS league so far but it can be a bit of a slog in the beginning

Now what? Farm bosses endlessly? Grind shitty skills for diary reqs?
>>
>>721015440
Compare the tutorial island on OSRS to wow retail starting on horde. You get dropped onto some island with a big toolbar with a bunch of spells that mean nothing. Then you spend the next 40 minutes running around killing random animals and it takes an hour before you're even in a major city.

The game feels DEAD. WoW is dead. It feels empty, lifeless. In OSRS after 15 minutes of tutorial island you get thrown into lumbridge on 301 with 30+ people running around. People killing cows, goblins. It feels organic and natural.
>>
how the fuck do I make gold as an ironman? just alch every drop I get?
>>
I reached end game on my ironman and realized its just grinding a 40 minute "raid" for a 3% chance at a weapon that I need to do the raid at a higher difficulty to get gear to grind bosses that have 0.5% drops
>>
>>721015353
do you actually have to pay for this game
>>
>>721015763
Yes. Enjoy your 1000+++ kc grind before you get anything remotely useful.
Not even the worst of Korean f2p MMOs were that bad.
>>
>>721015763
Now you quit the game. You won. There isn't any meaningful content left
>>
>>721015353
I don't care to play grinding simulator in a lifeless husk of a world. May as well be single player.
>>
>>721016015
Bosses should only be grinded for pets, other than that just disregard. But 99 skills are more important.
>>
>>721015916
Thieving. Takes time to get the money making point but that's the case with everything. Eventually bossing and alching the drops for more combat focus.
>>
>>721015353
Because I'm playing RS3 leagues. Bashing out a set of Adamant right now
>>
>>721016090
You either grind IRL or grind in OSRS
>>
Sailing looks like shit, it's just a skill for the sake of a skill.
Nothing sailing provides could only be provided with sailing, it's a skill to unlock areas to use other skills.
>>

nah

28 bots and 2 people*
>>

Its not more than 5% at any normal spot you're running around. At places like some obscure mining spots or some bosses, some hunter spots. The percentage MIGHT spike to 20% you see.

Most bots that are blatant names get banned within 10 hours that dont hide and just exist to farm and mule

The sneaky ones that work solo raids, slayer areas and have high stats masquerading as a person exist but they arent widespread anywhere near 25%.

It's maybe 10k bots at any time on.

The great thing about Runescape isn't beating the game, it's showing all the bots online that I did.

Also for the people that bot on their main accounts they WILL get banned eventually.

RWT from flagged bot accounts that give you gold will also get you a perma ban because they are very good at catching RWT, compiling ban lists for weeks and can wave ban you months after with a perma.

Jagex uses AI now to give you a probability of bot flag with scary accuracy. They take into account EVERYTHING including how predictable and human your patterns are over hundreds of hours on what you do.

Even to small things like when you go buy things from GE they see if you'll lower the price to get a faster sell because you're trying to get GP faster. They'll see if you talk in chat, if you use stamina potions, if you change your gear, if you move the mouse in a human way when you talk and when you're just moving around the GE or to wherever you're running, if you have joined a clan, if you have ever traded with anyone, if you buy teleport tabs or use runes to see if you save money.

I have extremely fond memories of Runescape but that game doesn't exist anymore, not the RS3 abomination nor the "old school" imposter. The game only exists in my childhood memories where it remains pure and unbastardized. As an added bonus, I don't have to waste my life trying and failing to recapture that nostalgic high that so many have fallen victim to.
>>
Should I sell my bandos top/bot for rigour or wait for it to go down? Really chaps my ass that it spiked to 40m right when I started to need it.
>>
>>721015353
If I wanted to play with autists and bots I'd just look in the mirror
>>
>>721016984
lol, I bot cg and toa 2-4 hours a week and its the most obvious fucking script, I've been doing it for nearly 9 months now, if you dont want to get caught all you have to do is play legit inbetween botting
>>
the subscription is like twice as much as I'd be willing to pay for such a thing. I think it was $5 when I originally played
>>
>>721018357
They collect a lot of data on someone high level before banning them and can flag your account for a year to a year and a half before banning and making a decision. They have a categorized list in their systems just for these occasions of anyone above 1200 skill total. Jagex doesnt really do instant bans its in waves and the higher the level account I believe the more time. They have a lot more human review now, they hire poles to review ban data and get two opinions before issuing a perma.

Me personally I wouldnt risk it. I just play with quest helper but I do everything legit.
>>
>>721018604
I botted the shit out of Runescape on 5 account back 2008-2013. I eventually god permabanned on all 5 accounts... then a few years ago jagex unbanned all the accounts with all my gold and items still there lmao

so much for taking a hard stance, guess they're desperate for players to return and they unbanned everyone who was banned before
>>
>>721018831
IDK. I just know botting is more harder to avoid not getting banned nowadays. They've been using a new system of AI since 2023 to detect bots and they have a lot more manual review. They did the whole support announcement and they are working on that as well.d

My advice is if you value your account and dont want to take risk, don't bot because I can say their detection is very good even though it feels like it doesnt work, It's silently monitoring you in everything you do with lots of data. Even your click patterns, the density heatmap of where you go in the game and the order in which you sell on the GE/ buy stuff is taken into account. I still buy bonds and membership tho.

>the best MMO on the market with some of the best questlines, skills, bossing and content
this but unironically.
the ONLY proper MMO with reasonable playerbase. the modern contenders are """MMO"""s
>>
>>721015416
I used to enjoy RS3 a lot. Then Necromancy came out and basically killed the PvM scene entirely, crashed the economy, and ruined progression. I switched to OSRS a few months after Necro's launch.

>>721015353
OSRS proves that to have a game be successful you need developers who actually give a shit about it. The original developers who wanted to set it up were told they would be fired as soon as the server went under, which everyone else at the company thought would happen within a year. Now most of the developers they hire to work on it grew up with the game/played it for years and years.

once upon a time i could tell you it was entirely reasonable to kill ankous for a few hours but inflation has taken a toll
>>
>>721024631
Hey dumbass it doesn't matter even if every player is a bot; as long as people are paying for membership the game is raking in millions in revenue every single month, which makes it very successful.
>>
>>721015416
I liked the old places with the old design but in RS3.
>>
>>721015353
I did. I'm at the point where I have to click the same boss for 20 hours because everything non-boss is just bad for making money.
A month at a time with long breaks inbetween is the correct way to play.
>>
>>721025467
I'd rather dump my gp into runecrafting for now

I'll probably end up purchasing a year then buy bonds after

Enjoying the grind, first account despite watching mates play in the golden era

I wouldn't be playing OSRS so much if it wasn't for the fact 2025 is just dead as fuck for video games. 2026 doesn't look better either.

>>
>>721015353
Because the game is controlled by autists going
>nooooo this training method can't actually be good for XP!!!!
>it's easier!!!!
>no, not because it's less intensive of an activity, nor does it take less time
>no, it's because it's actually fun, so people might actually want to do it!!!!!
>nerf it, NOW
so if I actually want to enjoy the game, it'll take longer to unlock more of it, and as a result, cost me more sub months, all to protect the autismo whales that feel like they'd "otherwise" have wasted time doing stuff like tick manip skilling on their 8 different accounts and 7 different gimmick alts
