Sony and Microsoft saw how successful Nintendo and Valve were with handheld gaming within their own niche markets and they want in on that pie. Problem is they're rushing into it expecting people to just buy their garbage just because it's PlayStation and Xbox without any thought put into them. Why bother with this when you can just get a Switch 2 for less, why bother with the next gen version of the Xbox partner handheld when you can just get the upcoming Steam Deck 2 for less. Why even bother when Sony and Microsoft are releasing their games on Switch and Steam and optimizing them for the hardwares? Sony and Microsoft should just get out of the hardware business at this point.
