Why do video essays suck so much?

They suck at writing in general so they rely on visual aids to make up for their lack of style, and are overly pedantic to make up for not really having much of anything to say on the subject they're discussing. Case in point, the criticism made in OP.

God damn I hate the stupid VHS effects.And now the youtube algo is recommending me "4chan deepdive" videos, which I imagine could only be 20 minutes of ruminating over screenshots
because they're made by autists who don't know how to present their thoughts cogently and also don't realize nobody cares so you end up with an 8+ hour Youtube video by some guy just going through a meandering monologue by himself for himself.

I blame the school system for making people believe the longer something is, the better. It's possible to say everything you need to say without it taking over 40 minutes. Some of these fags know exactly what they're doing and are trying to make as much money as possible from retards who need to be told how to think and feel. Worst part is that some of these retards don't even understand the droning that being spouted, they just need background noise because silence is too much for them to handle.
