This game fucking rules and only lame-os and gayfers think otherwise.
non linear castlevania is trash for the double digit IQedtoo dumb for metroidtoo shit at videogames for the original
>>721185464Better than Harmony of Dissonance, yet Aria still the best vania for GBA.
>>721185464It owns yeah, and the soundtrack is amazing
>nb4 double tap to run whingersgame plays perfectly
Can't see the screen
>>721185464I just started playing the gameboy igas and I agree. Only did this and HoD so far and this one is considerably better. SoTN is still more fun though.
>>721185701Been playing it for a while and yes, it's good. I've also only heard good things about the souls system. After that comes Dawn of Sorrow for the DS which I want to finish since I played it on my childhood.
>>721185701Nah, Aria is good but it’s too braindead easy.
>>721187464nah, it's got a good amount of challengeit's probably the best produced cv game
>>721185464CotM slaps but dumb faggots always get uppity when you say anything good about it. It's the biggest pleb filter out of the metroidvanias for sure.
Favorite DSS combinations? I remember using Rose Sword a good amount the last time I played, left a lingering hitbox so it hit multiple times if it was meaty enough iirc. Thought it was really cool how you could get new weapons with some of them. The sense of weight and speed to the different weapons is top-notch, really befitting of a Castlevania game. I also remember one of the satellite-style ones being really useful in my first playthrough way back, the one where ice blocks orbit around you, saved my ass from projectiles on that little dark screen. Additionally liked how you could get a combination that solidified enemies and use them in specific places to reach power-ups early, instead of waiting until you had the super jump.
>>721190658The one that surrounds you in a persistent fart cloud was great for various parts of the game, most notably Camila and Dracula. The sword moveset on Rose and Fire sword was great for the vertical moveset too though, even if you ignore the damage. Also, I used the DSS glitch to beat this fag bosses 2nd phase. Did I beat the game?
>>721185464The only Castlevania I've enjoyed.
>>721191314I remember reading in a magazine that one of their writers got so mad at this boss that he stuck his GBA in a freezer, and was able to vouch for it still working after it'd been a few hours.
>>721185464I like all three gba castlevanias, don't know why there's so much bitching and moaning about them
>>721191849Was relieved to see it's considered one of the, if not the hardest Dracula fight in the franchise after I resorted to glitching.
Why can't they remake all the 2d castlevania games in 16:9 with a toggleable soundtrack to either be one of 3 original/orchestral/remix. It would be relatively cheap compared to the amount of profits theyd make if they pumped them out.
>>721192195>if not theCertainly not.
>>721185464Second best to PoR imo
>>721192468This is from the one I've been told to avoid, memory holed it. Whats so bad about him again
>>721185464the seemingly random card drops are its onoy significant flawpretty good game otherwise
>>721192468>Whats so bad about him againLook at the fucking picture. Have you played Castlevania before? There is knock back when you are hit. Put it together.
>>721193448Wouldn't be the first time there was platforming in a C boss. Doesn't really matter unless it's a long fight.
>>721193175I find it funny that for a series known for its hard early games, the ones you can supposedly skip are for being too hard, or for bullshit reasons (Haunted Castle, this, the first GB game). I like it though. Dracula X is some good ZSNES-core.
>>721193448https://youtu.be/ichJgDsIZZw?si=QuEPAfpEuI5J0avT&t=136Just looked it up, are you tugging my willy?>>721194660The idea is that C1-4 are hard but fair. After beating them though, particularly 3, I'd definitely say they reach point of being trial-and-error tedium. Why they wouldn't draw the line there idk. Drac doesn't even look that bad in DX
>>721185464It has cool systems but is still held back by Castlevania movement and combat being so dull. Also it's super ugly. Still one of my favourite Igavanias.
If you never seen this, you didnt beat the game
>>721192195It's the most annoying, not the hardest. And I love COTM, but half of the battle is you flying to the top of the arena over and over.
I gave it up because it's too hard (beaten Castlevania 1 before btw).
>>721195251I loved DX when I played it side-by-side with replaying Rondo some ways back. In retrospect, Rondo's difficulty spike in the boss gauntlet up to Shaft is more memorable than much of Dracula X, despite the latter being much harder overall. It's still great though; if you like the sort of challenge presented by Castlevania 3 and want more of it, that's what Dracula X offers. Maybe its initial reception is colored by how people back then were starting to tolerate that less and skew towards easier games. >>721195696game is very cheeseable with cross subweapon
>>721195632Maybe I just didn't follow the ideal strategy, but the meteorite attack in 1st phase is considerably harder to avoid than anything Drac does in the prior games. >flying to the top of the arenathat's the easy part. hitting him without taking damage in 2nd phase is stupid hard without the right spell.
i hate the healing it costs mana to start, drains mana, and heals you for a small amount. The werewolves were great I feel like they must have toned them down in later entries.
>>721191849it's just an annoying boss>surrounded by perma respawn bats that does high contact damage>otherwise has shitall attacks, the laser is slow>oh look its waste time spamming high jump untill the charge over screen endsthe devil a normal fucking enemy was more engaging to fight than thisthe only funny part is skeletoning and praying that you get to big bone him
