The summons (at least in the first game) were canonically with Sora and aware of their experiences as proven by Simba and Mushu remembering Sora in 2 (although the issue of them knowing about the greater universe is never brought up to my knowledge)The space in between worlds is filled with Darkness, so without either being one with Darkness or having some protection like armor or a vessel, you can't travel without succumbing to the darkness. This is why Maleficent and other villains could leave their worlds. Bambi, Dumbo, Mushu, and Simba's worlds were all consumed by darkness which is how they ended up as crystals in 1. Same for the non-Destiny Isles FF characters, but they didn't get caught in the destruction. Pinocchio, Jiminy, and Gepetto too. Stitch has access to space ships, that's how he ends up in Hawaii and why he is able to get to other worlds too.>TL;DR: The world order thing is just an ideal held by some characters, not an actual limitation. Stitch flies to other worlds in a space ship, which most Disney characters don't have.
