You're encountering the age-old issue of people assuming every player self-inserts in RPGs, which is dumb. Not everyone’s main goal in a game is to pretend to be themselves getting laid. Sometimes I play a girl and romance dudes because I wanna see how the story plays out from that angle or just because it's written better. If anything, being able to enjoy different character dynamics makes you more open-minded than the typical "must romance big titty waifu every run" crowd. Ignore the terminally online, they think everything has to pass a sexuality filter.
