What's the best controller?

Have to agree with this

Anyone here tried the Switch Pro Controller 2? Is it any better (or any different) than its predecessor? I've got no plans to replace my Pro 1, I'm just curious.
>>
I liked the stadia controller before it stopped working
>>
>>721236367
There is no best controller as the needs differ (symmetrical layout, price ranges, membrane or microswitches and so on)

There isn't one.
>Switch 2 Pro has worse triggers and still drifts
>Wii U Pro had a gloss finish
>all Xbox controllers have shit d-pads
>the Dualshock has gotten worse since the D3
>4th gen controllers don't have sticks
>8bitdo is a meme and the d-pads are no better than modern controllers
>other third parties are worse than 8bitdo

How comfortable are the sticks on this? They look like an afterthought.
>>
>>721236367
Depends on the game
>2D platformer or fightan
Probably some arcade stick, not a handheld controller
>3D free camera or any other PC genre like RTS
Mouse and keyboard, possibly VR controllers if companies get off their asses and put in the tiny amount of effort to officially port their generic games with some inverse kinematics and gimmicks, it's not like their developers are doing anything that's more productive with their time.
>3D with tank controls with camera handled mostly automatically
Gamecube controller or at least an updated variant of it
>Cockpit game
Probably some HOTAS or HOSAS setup, if not a wheel for true master racing

Really like the D pad on this one.
>>
There's no best controller.
Take this one for instance. I'd say it's pretty damn good:
>Really good rumble on PC, which is rare considering there's no HD rumble support there
>Capacitive sticks which are dead precise
>Imperceptible wireless latency through its dongle
>Normal battery life, unlike the Dualsense
>Can set it up, save profiles and update its firmware with just an android phone
>Can bind the 4 back buttons it has to keyboard and even mouse buttons if you ever wanted that
>Except for those, every single button on this controller and the d-pad are soft mechanical switches
>Replaceable d-pad
>Gyro works without any lag or weirdness, as it should
>Has trigger stops
>As sturdy as you would expect a first party controller to be
>About the price of a dualsense (I grabbed it with shipping included at 65€)
But there will always be something people will hate about it. Asymmetrical is not for everyone. The LB and RB buttons can be a little bit too loud. It's chinese. That sort of stuff.
>>
>>721236417
>digital triggers
ELMAO. Tendies coping as per use
>>
>>721236854
The ongoing use of D-Pads in modern controllers is a meme and they really only have a place on handheld devices like the Deck that need 2D inputs but preclude being placed in your lap or on a flat surface due to the integrated screen.
Trying to find a luxury implementation of an input that was meant to be cheap and disposable for mass ewaste production like the Game and Watch or NES controllers is folly.

For PC? pic related.

For Switch? 8bitdo controller maybe

They feel fine, but the edges on my older Pro 2, before they added hall effect to it, broke off from being rustled around in my bag while travelling.

Is this true? People keep saying that Xbox Series controllers have a good d-pad.

It was destiny.

>Pro Controllers suddenly have le stick drift
What the fuck are you mongoloids doing with your controllers? None of my pro controllers have drift. That being said, the Series X controller is objectively the best.
>>
>>721239237
nta but if a controller uses potentiometers, it will eventually drift
>>
>>721238334
>>721239237
The series x d-pad is unironically the best on the market. Old 360 d-pad was pure aids.
>>
>>721239309
>it will eventually drift
I've been using my pro controllers for like 10 years now with no drift. When is it supposed to start?

My xbone controller developed drift within 6 months and barely any analog usage
>>
>>721236417
I like the pro2, its heavier and isnt tiny in my hand anymore.
>>
off topic but my dual sense runs out of charge often.
i pretty much need it plugged in a lot, the power goes out in like 2 hours maybe less. is there a fix? should i take it to EB/gamestop to fix it? are there good ways to fix it
>>
>>721240113
Cum in the ejection port then replace power cable with fast charging cord
>>
>>721239237
>objectively the best
>no gyro
Kek. Call me back when you can actually aim for yourself without the computer doing it for you.
>>
>>721240113
On PC you can maybe try to disable a few features but it's fairly ineffective.
Otherwise you can spend 30 bucks and buy a battery that has about 160% the capacity of the original by PAXO. It does work well, it's not exactly difficult to replace, I definitely find it less annoying than the original battery, but it's 30 bucks.
>>
>>721239403
Series > DualSense > Switch 2
>>
>>721240578
>gyro
the only use for a gyro in gaming is buttplug control on your he-girlfriend chaturbate streams
>>
>>721236367
m30 for the least flaws
steam controller for highest function but flaws (like having a vestigial thumbstick instead of a real d-pad)
>>
>>721239237
>overworked sad fuck who games for a couple of hours on the weekend wonders why his controller doesn't break down
every time
>>
>>721240763
That and being able to actually aim in any game that involves shooting.
>>
>>721241062
why would you play shooters with a controller?
>>
>>721236367
The 360. I don't give a shit what anyone tells me.
>>
>>721236417
Not with that less-than-worthless Dpad.
>>
>>721242457
Not just shooters. The majority of games have shooting or aiming as a central mechanic, but are otherwise better played on a controller due to 360° analog movement.
>>
>>721244554
The only game that jumps to mind that makes sense on a controller (and features shootan) is GTA. Anything else, use kb+m
>>
>>721236681
D-pad sucks
>>
>>721237178
>missclicks the d-pad
No
>>
>>721244441
Is it really sucky? I bought the SSBU collectors edition which came with a fancy controller, it seems to have better response time and nicer buttons.
