How are we feeling about Alabaster Dawn?New game by the Crosscode people that finally has a demo on Steam
No love for CrossCode?https://store.steampowered.com/app/3110760/Alabaster_Dawn/Where CrossCode felt very Chrono Trigger in style this gives me Xenogears vibes, bit worried the multiple weapons will leave some feeling sloppy but I'm glad to have a real melee option
I have it downloaded and I'm looking forward to trying it, but there are a hundred other games I want to play too. It's on my list — I loved CrossCode.
Demo was ok.No point in talking about it further until 1.0 is released, whenever the fuck that is.Okbye.
Demo was excellent but it seems like it'll be at least another couple of years until it's finished. Not gonna touch early access.
>>721238102Crosscode worth it?
>>721238102I enjoyed this, the new sprites looks better and more fluid but also weird at the same time. I like the idea of different weapons and enemies having slash/pierce/blunt resistances through I disliked movesets of hammer and chakram which made dealing with blunt weak bugs annoying.Overall I am excited for this game through I think I will skip early access and buy full release of the game
>what's her name?
>>721239973It is a very unique game, nothing plays quite like it and it's pretty long so difficult to say. I personally think it's great but if you don't like the ranged combat and puzzle solving it won't be for you
>>721239973I've put about 200 hours into it. It's a lot of fun.
> literally a fucking electron wen game> worse than mobile shitKYS
>>721240159Dropped.
>>721239973Yes, great game, tons of content, and some emotional moments all made with a lot of love. That said almost everyone complains about the first few hours so if you aren't willing to power through the initial portion then it's probably not for you.
>>721239973if you enjoy 2D zelda but wish the puzzles and hidden world secrets were designed for adults instead of children, but also enjoy speedy action games like dmc/bayonetta but wish it had more genre shifts and also enjoyed a webcomic at some point in your life crosscode could very easily be the greatest game you've ever played.if not, one of the above aspects will probably drive you crazy
>>721242442And the gameplay?
>>721242589never played Crosscode?
>>721238102>ugly brown dyke MC No thanks
>>721243414who cares?
>>721242589How does this shit look worse than CrossCode?
>>721243713Me.
>>721238102Excellent, exactly what I was expecting. just needs more content like CrossCode.
>>721240363The protag is a silent troon, eh? Long isn't a problem.>ranged and puzzleCurious. Isn't the game like secret of mana?>>721240817200? The story is girl gets sucked up in a mmorpg? >>721242769All for a fiver? I see. Hard to belive. Op's sequel will be decent, too? Other indies like that? >>721242769>first few hours so if you aren't willing to power through the initial portion then it's probably not for you.Like 10h?>>721242847I do like Zelda. What exactly do web comics have to do with it? Unsure if I ever saw or read one...?>>721243414Literally my main problem. >>721243713The problem is that dykes nowadays aren't just funny girls craving dick and having some issues with that fact. Dykes are a political instrument to divide and conquer, while simultaneously defiling the body. This is nothing less than a sacrilege.
>>721245587>The protag is a silent troon, eh? Long isn't a problem.Oh never mind, please stay away from the game
game looks great, kinda miss the "game within a game" aspect of crosscode though. played about 10 minutes of the demo, pleased with the progression of their art style and combat, but no point in playing further because the game is a long ways away. wake me when it releases. fuck early access.>omigosh guys! they're gonna add a new section of the first zone!!! it might even have a new enemy!!!!!nah, I ain't being dripfed basic content piecemeal and being expected to pay for it, fuck off.
>>721245838>please stay away from the gameYou seem like one, too. Played time spinners for the graphics, as the story is pure pozz. It's not even the cool fringe culture that started in the 70s, no, it's sheer propaganda.
>>721246234I'm sorry but CrossCode does not ned tranny obsessed retards playing it, work on that first
>>721246320I'm certain that's true. The game clearly said so itself:>CrossCode does not ned tranny obsessed retards playing it
>>721242442>2.6 gigs .exeWTF?
>>721238102I miss Crosscode dungeons.Still looking forward to it.
>>721247772That last dungeon was incredible.
>>721248397This boss fight is super cool, I practiced it enough at one point to get through it without getting hit
>>721238102no one cares about your safe european tard game, you fucking chill
>>721238102Top of my wishlist. Enjoyed the demo. Combat feels tight, too easy but have to remind myself it's the very beginning of the game. Feels slower and less spammy than Crosscode which is neither good nor bad, just different. Not sure how I feel about different weapons having identical move sets. Hopefully they either branch out later, or are customisable in other ways. The pause after 2nd hit to transition into a break damage combo felt too long and not worth it for the damage, not really a fan of pausing mid combo to chain into other combos. Visuals are gorgeous but desperately needs scaling options so it'a not blurry at 1080p. Lukewarm on the story, hoping for some plot twists. Juno a cute.
uh, what?
>>721238102>tranny gametranny game
>>721248397The black hole attack was pure kino.
>>721238102
>>721248836Crosscode also was funded by german government gibs.
>>721248397>base game ends on the Ultimate Experience™>DLC somehow still goes up from there
>>721248959>german government funding a tranny gamenot surprising
I booted crosscode after 3 years to finally finish dlc and I am getting owned by random mobs...
>>721238102>Crosscodemore like tranny coded
>>721248823Similar movesets between weapons was the biggest disappointment of the demo for me. I expected meaningful gameplay differences picking up the hammer, but it mostly just served as a slash/blunt toggle.
>>721239973This game is impossible to beat if you have ocd.
>>721248959knew it was a trannygame from the art style
Loved Crosscode, wishlisted as soon as I heard they were developing something new. Haven't played the demo yet but love to see how much they've evolved this new game aesthetically. Right call to zoom the field in a little bit from the last game for combat purposes too.
This thread is 90% the tranny developer repeatedly bumping his own thread from page 10. Bring back thread IPs
>>721248964Explains the trans propaganda.
>>721238102>western garbage cosplaying as japanese slopinto the trash it goes!
>>721249263Played drova and strong female fuck trope is everywhere in the game. The combat is basically non existent, no matter if giant rat or last boss, all fights are identical.
>>721250934How so? Are there dlc that are worth it?
>>721248959>Ben Omar MohammedTypical German name lol
>>721248959What's the point of having such a long name, no one is ever going to use that whenever they address "her"
>>721239973It looks interesting but I have been filtered by the pseudo MMORPG settings, AKA too many of everything, like NPCs, settings. It was just so slow that I flushed the game. It's not even a bad game, but come on why do fake offline mmorpg game are as tedious as the real things
>>721252216trannies love when there is no real way to acquiesce to their fetishistic wishes. they like when society is in a gigantic kafka trap where it's always mistreating, misgendering and microaggressing them somehow.having absurd names like "lilith" or "Flora Teflowa Valentine Valerius Ben Abdeslam Ben Modeslam Ben Omar Mohammad Abdeslam" or having "neopronouns" are all great way to make it so people literally have no idea how you want them to address you, so you can always be a victim (and profit from this victimhood)
>>721249083I guess Gautham wasn't that good of a gamedev after all
>>721252342>pseudo MMORPG settings,Like what?>>721252342>why do fake offline mmorpgI thoght it's just a video game setting. Did the Germans again fuck things up? I swear their incompetence is mind boggling. How web 2.0 turned them into amusement zombies withing a decade is astounding. While parts of Africa are becoming actual countries, germeme is taking the worst of the worst Africans in and is becoming kongo as we speak.
>>721252361That's true. When you guess the pronoun right they feel trapped, helpless and indignated. They even tell you that they don't like it at all if someone gets it right, they want to screach all day.
>>721252552>Like what? The settings, the world, the billion NPCs talking about random things. I didn't play the game more than two hours though, so maybe it's different after that. Again, not saying it's bad, it's just not what I expected.
>>721252342It took a couple hours for the setting to click for me personally, after a few awkward encounters and the stage getting set I found a lot of the cast pretty endearing.
>>721248836German government gives grants to the arts. I have no idea what the game has to do with climate though
>>721238102i kept thinking "man i kinda wish i was replaying Cross Code right now"initial story hook and the characters aren't very interesting desu
>>721238102Crosscode but boring
>>721253689Crosscode was already boring.
>>721252757Where's the difference to jrpgs? Idk, haven't played the game nor any mmorpg.>>721253896Not worth 5 bucks?
>>721252939it's just multiple topics in one ministrylike the austrian ministry that would do these types of funds is called "Federal Ministry of Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport"
>>721239973it's shit
>>721238102you mean the next game the Crosscode devs are going to relentlessly shill on /v/?
>no puzzle in the genre tagsPlease tell me this is true, the nonstop puzzles drove me insane in CC
>>721254276>Not worth 5 bucks?the game is on gog-games if you're unsure, it's just a 500mb downloadthe game is great but i'm glad i pirated at first because it took me 3 restarts until it finally clicked with me
>>721254596Nope, there's a dungeon in the demo with the same style as CrossCode
>>721254881It's over
>>721254407>>721254612Are there games like this, modern Zelda or mana likes? Seeds of nostalgia seems OK, but it's not out, yet.>>721254582A on, they are germeme.
>>721248959Why are indie game developers like thisAutism patients should be mass culled
crossdresstrooncode
>>721254596They still exist, but dungeons are toned down considerably. Compared to Crosscode, the demo dungeon felt like a BotW shrine.
>>721257217The game really needed a dedicated jump button
>>721257782there kinda is in the sequel
>>721257883I wouldn't really call it one, I'm not even sure what the point of adding it was. You can still walk off ledges (and fall in water), it just forces you to press or hold A to properly make the jump now.
>CharactersHeroine looks nice, but I'm very much not a fan of a fucking capibara for a helper mascot thing. It looks way too realistic. I think some kind of fairy-like creature would work better, and you can still give those some animal traits to represent various species. Rest are, well, okay, can't really tell much with what's in the demo.>VisualsI'm a bit unsure about style. It feels a bit generic, maybe? Between this and CrossCode, if I had no idea about either game, I'd probably say that AD is the "fake MMO" game. Also, while game is certainly much more animated, and heroine's movements are smoother, I have strong opinions on mixels, and animation method used in this game is mixel fucking galore. Not /very/ noticable during general gameplay, but kinda bad during cutscenes and such.>GameplayI like it, can't really nitpick about anything. As soon as I could just play the game and engage in combat, game instantly became significantly more captivating.Well, one thing - I really fucking hate tutorials inserted into story exposition. It just ruins both bits of story you are dumping on me, and makes figuring out gameplay harder, not to mention the clash between "those dudes know what they are doing" and "hey did you know you need to hit enemies with sword to hurt them". I miss separate tutorial/training modes in games that are not fightings or strategy games.>EngineIt works, sure, but I still think using HTML to make a proper videogame is stupid. Sometimes "can" doesn't equal "should".>>721249372>stopped right at boss of the DLC dungeon, which was over two years agoLea needs to learn a word "FUCK".
>>721257217That sucks because the DLC dungeon (not the "final dungeon" which isn't worthy of being considered one because it's a fucking hallway) was the best part of the whole game. I'm super bummed that this game seemingly won't have a massive final dungeon like CC.
>>721251982there are a million quests that make you explore every area incessantly. I had like 60 hours in the game halfway through before I quit.
>>721259075Now I get it. Alright, no buy from me.I once watched some people play and they explained some mechancis to me. That osunds like mmorpg. It's basically a gigantic grind. Grind is among the worst rpg mechancis. Yakuza 7 and 8 did I'd right. For high end game enemies you need to grind like 9 hours and with the exp items maybe 3-4 hours, that's acceptable imho.
>>721258747>I'm very much not a fan of a fucking capibara for a helper mascot thing.Same, when I saw it I thought it was supposed to be a joke because they are popular or something.>animation method used in this game is mixel fucking galoreYeah, sometimes it's look really weird from certain angles. Also some NPCs have unconnected parts of the body, like those kids running in the village.>Lea needs to learn a word "FUCK".Pretty much kek. I have finished right before dungeon I think, also had to finish the goat quest and upgrading that brewing machine and remembering how to play the game while doing them wasn't great idea
>>721238832>>721238102I did not like crosscodeit's too western for a jrpg and the did an awful job at using the fake mmo medium
>>721238832https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEZsGUqgtHQ
>>721239973Yeah it was a good game; good music, characters, side content, leveling and progression, story. Puzzles were too abundant in the later half of the story dungeons but that's my only gripe with it.imo, it's worth checking out since Isometric ARPGs are pretty rare in general unless you wanna confine yourself to Diablo-likes
>>721238102Loved the demo, day one buy.The new segmented animations or whatever it is called looks really good, adds depth when anyone is moving. Same format as CC: Plot hook, then move time forward, much more subdued than the cargo ship and all these characters at once. Love Juno and Cabbage. Story so far is only "ancient evil has awoken", but like with CrossCode the devil is in the charming characters and dialogue. Also props on Radical Fish for having a setup where the protags village gets destroyed, but everyone (maybe) survives. Finally, combat is pretty much the same and I love it right away. Always something to do with combos, charges, melee, range, dodge, sprint, block and parry. It came late, but the puzzles are the same quality as ever. Also, first companion is a redhead again
westerners stealing the anime artstyle and making it "safe" (poopskins everywhere and no tits) has been a disaster for indie games
>>721239973Like others have said, depends. Don't be fooled, the game is massive. Wears it's influences like Chrono Trigger, Xenogears and Terranigma on it's sleeves.Story is exceptionally charming. Ever played and mmo and gotten used to seeing regulars in the guild? The game nails that feeling. Protag is a cuite who can only say her name and "Hi!" in the beginning.Gameplay is what might make and break it for you: It's a twin stick shooter/melee hybrid. I find it really fucking fun and there's like five sphere grids to tune. And it's just satisfying to pull off combos, ranged charge attacks followed up by dodges and and parries. You get your own rival with identical skills to you that challenges you a certain points in the game as a skillcheck. He's both insufferable and great. The game is both famous and infamous for it's puzzles, ranges from simple ricochet beams to massively complicated with many moving parts.
>>721238102>Randomly turns a pair of bros into hamfisted faggotry in the DLCNo thanks
>>721262979I assumed they were brothers
>>721262080It's developed by a tranny so no real surprise

>>721263448Why do they portray themselves as magical beings? Trannies are like the worst of male and female combined.
>>721261334>it's worth checking out since Isometric ARPGs are pretty rare in general unless you wanna confine yourself to Diablo-likesThat's what caught my eye. Looked up some games like sites. There are few decent ones on ps2, but no newer ones. Grindea is disgusting. I hope that seeds of nostalgia might turn out fine, but it's really a slim hope.>>721261337What's the gameplay? Melee and ranged attacks, me u healing and spend the money gained through fighting in shops for consumables and gear?
>>721262139>Gameplay is what might make and break it for you: It's a twin stick shooter/melee hybrid. I find it really fucking fun and there's like five sphere grids to tune. >>721263448jesus christ how disgustinghe probably made this thread himself too, very inorganic posts
>>721239973If you enjoy puzzles, like the combat, and can tolerate poor pacing, you'll probably love itIf you hate the above or dislike grindy MMO sidequests but feel the need to do the sidequests anyway, stay awayIf you're unsure, pirate it and play through Bergen Mines (first dungeon). If you like the mines, you'll probably like the rest of the game. Sadly there's a ton of bloat before then, but also if you're having fun with the bloat it's definitely the game for you.
>>721264405>What's the gameplay? Melee and ranged attacks, me u healing and spend the money gained through fighting in shops for consumables and gear?Run around gather random stuff, get into fights, do melee combos with delayed follow up moves, when the enemy gets out of ranged, just quick or charged ranged shots. Block or perfect parry attacks, reflect some right back. Combat is great because you never need to wait around for the boss to come to you or vice versa, tough ones will make you work to get the combo in, but that makes them more satisfying to beat. It usually follows a pattern of entering a new dungeon, getting introduced to a new mechanics in puzzles and trash mobs then the boss is an exam of putting both together.
>>721239973I thought what I played was great but ended up putting it down and haven't picked it back up yet. Dungeons are very puzzle heavy; I like puzzles, but it still felt like a little too much sometimes. Where I ended up putting it down was one dungeon that was a warp maze. I can not stand those in video games and on top of the puzzle heavy nature, it just became unfun. Up until then I had a good time and surely would have a good time after that dungeon, but it was enough to kill my interest at that time.
