Also, the enemy placement got progressively more annoying as the game went on.It's a shame because i really liked the story and the atmosphere, but actually playing the game felt like dragging my balls through a mile of glass fragments.

The way you complete puzzles is basically go down one route, kill enemies, get the key/passcode you need, go back to main hub and then repeat the process with the other routes, so wouldn't the fact that enemies stay dead simply speed up the process, thus making it less boring?Also yes, you do have flares, but you can only find a limited number of them which is not enough to completely clear the areas that you utilize the most, especially as the game progresses and the amount of enemies increase. Out of the 3 big low poly indie survival horror games (Alisa, Signalis and Conscript) i'd honestly rate Signalis the lowest just cuz it's very basic gameplay wise. Doesn't mean it's bad just the weakest out of the 3.

Of course, the actual setting and play within a play formatting gave most of its context and is the reason that you hear about Carcosa literally hundreds of years later (and in fact, Chambers himself borrowed the name from a previous author, Bierce).
