I'm sure Stranger than Heaven will be good but I don't like the big wait between mainline entries since they always have to set the game around the time of release and have to come up with a bunch of BS that happened between entries.

>>721262960I was very skeptical of the switch starting out but ichiban is a good character and in some ways, he is a lot more personable than kiryu. Kiryu is often the tsukkomi, just playing everything straight and having jokes happening around him, while ichiban is more of a boke role where he is the butt of the joke and the "happy idiot". All in all he's just a very likable guy with a heart of gold. The further they stray away from the plot of his first game idk how you can really remind the audience he was ever really a yakuza type of person though. He is not really a tough guy much in 8.

Yakuza 2 should've taken the perspective of another Yakuza and their conflict, maybe Ryuji and focus on him.The point I'm trying to make, if they treated Yakuza like a franchise where the main protag switches out every title (i.e Pokemon, Fallout, Assassin's Creed, GTA, etc.) it would be a lot more impactful (and badass) seeing Kiryu show up in future titles.

I just started 7 and I can't believe how stupid this guy is. He not only happily went to prison for a crime he didn't come close to committing but got one singular letter and -0- visits in nearly 20 years and didn't think anything was wrong? Of course I didn't get to the part where he realizes things are wrong and he was betrayed but holy cow.

That's like, one of the very basic dogmas of it that you can't "help" people like that and do some kind of Christ-like savior work since only God is able to actually save people and the work of Salvation has already been achieved by Christ Himself. You need to just focus on living a good life while sticking as much as possible to Christ's teachings so that others may see it in you that you are actually have the happiness in life that they like and they ultimately mellow out and chose to come to Christ themselves of their own free will.
Ichiban is fine, I just don't like the story of them. 7 was "how can we burn every bridge we have", and 8 was "how can we do it even harder? "

Yakuza needs a fucking reboot, a FULL one at that. Drop the Tojo, Omi, Kamurocho and etc.Come up with new giga yakuza clans, on a different region of Japan.And have a protagonist be mid-late twenties years old.

i was more than ready for a new protagonist, i just don't think ichiban was the right character for that. someone like tatsuya would've been a lot more interesting and intriguing just because of how different he would've been
