been playing it quite a bit. honestly this game fucking rules. Azure Striker Gunvolt thread.
>>721273207You ARE going for the S+ ranks, right? Otherwise, you are not playing Gunvolt.
>>721273480Not yet, I'm just going through the story and doing challenges here and there. once I finish it I'm gonna shut off the field dialogue and get to business. is there an option to do this instead of having to press select when someones talking in a level? I find it so fucking annoying still
>>721273598I think it becoming a toggleable option was first available in GV2
Inti deserves more success.
You're not using the dogshit first localization, right?
>>721273207Glad youre enjoying it anon, you should make sure to give Luminous Avenger iX a go after 2, its tons of fun
>>721275186It seems like it's been years since they were really on track.
>>721274018oh goddammit
>>721275367I've heard they're connected. how so? same character or side characters? same type of game?
>>721274018is this true in the enhanced trilogy? not available in gv1?
>>721276772NTA but LAiX is a side story featuring the rival from GV1/secondary playable character from GV2. It's my personal favorite game in the series.
>>721276987so it takes place after gv2? can you play the trilogy first then move on to those? gonna check a trailer out now
>>721276987>>721277071fuck it's on a good sale but I bought too much shit the last few days. oh well.
>>721277071It plays like a spinoff to GV2 and is best played after 2 if you want to follow the plot. Its events aren't relevant to GV3 so if you want, you can finish the trilogy first and then go back to LAiX if you want more. There's also LAiX2 but I'm not a fan since it heavily nerfs your standard moveset.
>>721277479worth getting laix and not getting 2 now (way too much dlc) but it's like 10 bucks and looks great. or you think there will be some other enhanced version soon?
>>721276772iX games have system similarities to the main games but the main difference is that there's a lot less story dialogue.iX1 is a spinoff focused on the new playable character Copen as he appears in GV2. If you like his gameplay in that one then consider iX1.Although it's presented as a spinoff the setting is actually very dependent on GV1 and GV2 spoilers.iX2 tried to reinvent his gameplay with ground melee but didn't do a very good job because development was rough. Most of the bosses are still well-designed though. That one has references to the past games but overall the story is very disconnected from past settings. Also has some stupidly overpriced crossover DLC bosses.
>>721278007so the first one is a must have and the second one is fine to get later on you think?
>>721277910Inti games go on sale regularly so there's no need to rush. If you grabbed the Trilogy, you're set for a good while.>>721278090I'm not a fan of LAiX2 personally, but half of that has to do with the nerfed moveset in base form and the other half with the hard as balls Hard Mode being mandatory to get the true ending. I'm too much of a shitter to have fun with that.If you're actually good at action games and like the games/setting, you'll probably like it.
>>721278372oh ok that's what I was worried about. got it, appreciate the info anon
I really wanna know if there is any way to shut the level dialogue off in the trilogy enhanced version of the game btw. it's so fucking distracting going through the second time
Man I really want another Luminous Avenger game, Copen is my goat. It'd be sick to have a dual protagnist set up like Gunvolt 3 with Blade.
>>721278935There should be options to turn it off somewhere. It varies between games though.
>>721275186They are completely responsible for their failures. Very few studios squander their talent as thoroughly. I can’t even begin to understand why, but they simply refuse to learn that the less gooner shit is in their games, the more people love their games. I don’t get why they can’t just buy the team a gift card for the nearest massage parlor and tell them to make games without explicit waifus.> GunvoltIt’s a massive step down from Zero, but playable. They needed to do something different from Zero/ZX, so they came up with the tagging gimmick, which is awful and creates stilted stop-and-go combat. The combo system greatly exacerbates the worst aspects of the combat. Level design, enemy placement, and boss design are all so thoughtless that they introduced the “prevasion” system (limited invulnerability) rather than put in the work to fix their game. Underappreciated in “games with great sprite art” threads. Should be played on 3DS, which it was designed for. The original “bad” translation is significantly more interesting and full of character than the revision. Has a few good tracks but again a huge step down from Zero for some reason.
>>721279190I can't find it. only options seem to be control options. I read somewhere you can hit y on launch but that doesn't work.
>>721279179I want a direct sequel to GV2. I want a resolution to these two's rivalry and I want to know what Xiao was plotting no the joke ending in GV3 doesn't count. But yeah, a new iX game with Blade would be cool too, I guess.
>>721279202kys you retarded tranny faggot
>>721273207The tagging shit ruins it
>>721280956the tagging is a fun mechanic anon. not ever game inspired by it needs to be megaman 1to1
>>721280716Stay mad gooner. Your cartoon characters will never love you.
>>721281738forgot to mention I'm trans btw. you know, if that even like... matters or w-whatever...
>>721279619GV3 definitely needs a sequel more than LX2, I just really love the cast and gameplay for those games. Hell maybe somehow someway we can bullshit another game like Gunvolt 2.
>>721276845Yeah, you still need to press select in GV1.
>>721279202Otaku studio, otaku audience, their games are not for you and you need to fuck off, you're not welcome here.
>>721282298that's so shitty, fuck. alright
>>721275186No, studios clearly need to be just successful enough to keep the lights on so they don't go mainstream and full retard.
>>721273207sex with gunvolt
For anyone who hasn't heard, in Inti's latest stream they mentioned that they wanted to show off playable Copen in the Trilogy Enhanced version of GV3 before Tokyo Game Show but couldn't make it in time, which confirms they decided to commit to finishing that update (previously it was up in the air if they will or not).
>>721283075oh so there's still more shit coming out for it? nice
does this have any of the same people who worked on megaman btw? is it just a better mighty no 9 or just a spiritual successor from some other devs?
Is the trilogy good?I keep seeing mixed reviews
goddamn that free infinite float you get when the muse revives you is great
>>721284408I bought the originals and refunded them for the trilogy yesterday after talking to some people and researching a little
>>721284408Only remaining issue on PC is that if you enable 120fps mode in GV3 you get massive slowdown yes even on good hardware, 60fps mode runs fine though. Pretty sure they're still working on fixing it behind the scenes, since they did start a Steam forum thread asking for everyone's specs and where the performance issue happen to assist them figuring this shit out.
did they make any other good collections?
>>721273207It's decent. It ain't Megaman and a lot of people were hoping it would be though.
>>721286656The BMZ trilogy?>>721287137Yeah, if you play it expecting MMZ or even X, you are not going to like it that much. However, as a score attack, it's pretty great.
Reminder that all the problems in the series started over cunny.
>>721287308>The BMZ trilogy?what is bmz
>>721283075Are they gonna add a new story or are they just gonna plop Copen in and not bother explaining his presence
>>721282625Aren't they literally on the brink of bankruptcy?
>>721287975Blaster Master Zero. The games that potted sex plant are from.
>>721279202>Level design, enemy placement, and boss design are all so thoughtless that they introduced the “prevasion” system (limited invulnerability) rather than put in the work to fix their game. We have a S+let here.
>>721288598Zero series did not have this issue even with the much worse screen crunch. Gunvolt and Copen’s move sets are just not conducive to high-risk high-reward gameplay because of the lock-on mechanics. Where Zero was maybe 30% evasion and 70% wrecking a boss’ shit with combos (or charge slash for normies), Gunvolt is 1% tagging and 99% evasion while holding the “do damage” button. Inti tries to compensate for this by giving the bosses much stronger and more complex attacks, so that the player has something to do, but they are often not telegraphed at all, and are memorization-based to a fault. S+ never feels exhilarating. You never feel like you’ve mastered the game because you have to play so passively. The anime music that plays with 1000 kudos completely ruins whatever might have been salvaged from the experience.
>>721288303What makes you think that?
>>721288593hmmmm
>>721289595They're good games.
>>721287916Man, GV really got to come home to this every night after working his freelance job of slaughtering people.
>>721273207Is this or Blaster Master Zero better?
>>721290581Most people will tell you that BMZ is, but i personally don't like it that much. There's nothing else like beating the game with top ranks.
>>721290581I prefer BMZ, personally. But it depends if you like top-down segments and the gimmicky gun system.
>>721290581I prefer Gunvolt, but I mean, you should give them both a try at some point.
