Its being returned in record numbers as well. The last direct was a disaster and Nintendo are realizing that they finally broke the camels back.

Exactly. They have to open the gates for 3rd party support, I expected more Switch 1 to Switch 2 upgrades, and even indie devs like Factorio are waiting for a Switch 2 dev kit so he can upgrade it's game and port de DLC.

To be fair the famitsu threads started off as a sony "own". The fact it became the opposite was and is still funny. Japan doesn't represent the market as a whole though. While its doing well there. Its slowed everywhere else. Pokemon will help, but post that I'm not sure.
>>

It does matter. They'll get jewier and jewier to make quater reports. Games won't improve and go back to normal until the money men put in charge of the company get the boot.

What good will? They raised game prices, forced digital only for most of their library, are claiming ownership of summon battles, suing and scaring the fuck out of anyone they hate, they're basically the Devil in video game company form. Even EA was never this bad because you could just not buy EA games and it wouldn't affect you. Nintendo raising game prices will affect everyone, them stamping out other companies' games with patents will and so will their litigious nature.

Part of the issue is the game cards. But at the same time, the portability of the thing was definitely a major factor in the original Switch's success. The game cards necessitated the creation of game keys, since publishers just weren't willing to put up with the costs of the cards anymore. If Nintendo didn't create keys, a lot of publishers probably would have walked.
>>
>>721303195
>>721303605
I buy plenty of Nintendo first party video games and quite frankly I find some video games for my switch one play a lot better on my switch to even without the upgrade like the first fairy tale game on my switch. Also I think children is Nintendo's main Target demographic I mean Mario is a pretty kid friendly franchise.

>DK is so easy even game journalists noticed it
>Prime 4 is a leftover from switch 1, it looks like it was de-aged and now has a target audience of sub 10 year olds, the marketing is also so bad it seems like they actually want it to flop so they can shut retro.
>Basketball game for disabled retards
The target audience for everything is 15-20 years below the actual age of their core audience.
>>
>>721286156
Aren't consoles sold at a loss? Nintendo's profit margins were so high during the Switch because of software sales, everything being priced at $60 instead of some having a smaller price tag like handhelds did, and people not buying two systems to play the games. Switch 2 just does not have the library to really get a profit yet. They also need to consider dropping the price, because I don't know very many people who are willing to pay $70 for a game. Inflation doesn't matter if people won't buy, it's the same reason you won't get $100 games despite old games costing that much.

I'd be lying if I said the Game Key Carts weren't a major reason why I'm not buying one. If I'm spending $450 on a console, I'd like to buy some games on it so I can at least feel like I'm getting my money's worth even though I could have played the games elsewhere. But I have no interest in the third party games on Key Carts,

Shelves looked like this even when they were breaking records. They are playing the long game and have holiday sales in mind, but it's still ridiculous. I don't think stores ever had this amount of Switches ever at one time even before sales.
>>
>>721304212
>>721303497

Okay you must have a pretty big Walmart wherever you live I'm guessing some sort of city because my hometown I managed to get a switch 2 day one and I seen switches in the galley of the store but I'm quite sure my local Walmart doesn't have this many switches also I try to pre-order the switch to on both Nintendo and Amazon before I managed to find a day one at Walmart but it was a number of weeks before they email me asking if I wanted one still and I already had the switch 2 day one.

>>721304319
PS4 sold at a loss and it's selling for $50 cheaper than what it sold at.
>B-but 15 year old console
We're in an age where tech has peaked and value isn't depreciating. Things are actually increasing in price instead of dropping like they're supposed to.

>are you so stupid you think the way Microsoft or Sony operates has any bearing on what Nintendo does?
>>
>>721304423
>They are playing the long game and have holiday sales in mind
I think that might have the opposite effect because when people see a shelf full of consoles like that, it makes them seem undesirable. Like there's something wrong with it. If they had 1 box there but like 50 boxes in the back that they grab whenever someone checks out they'd sell a lot more consoles.
>>
>>721304684

Cancer dying is a good thing
>>
>>721304708
You're right anon, the tech Nintendo is using is magically cheaper for them to manufacture because they are Nintendo.
>>
>>721304761
I agree to an extent anon, but Furukawa has articles saying they were gonna make so many of these that anyone who wants one will be able to get one before this thing released. He has a different mind from Iwata who was infamous for artificial scarcity, but he played around too much during the Wii era. It was still hard to find one 2 years after the thing released, and it would've sold more if it was easier to find.
>>
>>721303195
No, I'm saying that the people who buy your console day 1 and then build hype and advertise it to normies are the hardcore gamer. Every single hardware manufacture tries to skip that step and eats shit. The main source of income is eventually normies but you don't get to them without passing through the hardcore.
>>
>>721303497
lol this shit is never going to sell now, they are over stocked
>>
>>721304882
Stop talking to me, I already told you to use Google to correct your ignorance. It takes 5 seconds, you don't need to waste time arguing with me about this shit.
>>
>>721304153
It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. They can't just stop making the things portable since it was a major factor in its success, but that very portability is what's causing friction. Consumers don't want keys, but publishers don't want cards. In trying to please one, you alienate the other. If you alienate the publishers, the system will have less games, or at least less physical ones, and consumers will still be pissed. The only way to please everyone is to either dramatically cut the costs of the game cards, or find a way to use discs without harming the form factor of the console.

Determining the intelligence of "the 4chan poster" is impossible because 4chan is not a single person but a large, diverse, and completely anonymous online community. The platform hosts millions of different users who vary widely in age, interests, and beliefs. The perception that all posters are "stupid" is a misconception stemming from a number of factors, including the platform's design and the nature of some of its most notorious boards.

Thanks to Valve and all of the copy cat hand held gaming PC's that followed shortly after the Switch 2 was pretty much dead on arrival.
If Nintendo wants to survive they're gonna have to swallow their pride and start publishing their games to PC.

Technically Ayaneo and GDP were doing it before it was cool but that's another matter.

Covid was such a clown world that people and corporations need to realize that nothing that happened the previous 4 years has no relevance to the future. Car dealerships are still eternally butthurt and seething that they can't sell every shitbox on their lot for 100k (MSRP was 35k in 2019)

It's only a matter of time before Nintendo Classics get ported to PC. Furukawa and Doug Bowser don't give a fuck about Nintendo's integrity, if we get only one Wii U under them I guarantee you they'd go third party instead of tough it out like their predecessors did.
