Is the track "Aquatic Ambience" being used in nostalgic videos an MK Ultra-level psyop? Are we being programmed with nostalgia?
>>>/x/>>>/pol/
whats the worst case scenario of pining for 90s music?
OP is definitely onto something but I see it more as youtubers are lazy and don't feel like using music from lesser-known games
>>721289762Yeah, everyone on that site just copies each other. It's tropes and plagiarism, not a psyop.
They just reuse what they hear in other video essays, so you'll hear that fucking MGS2 track when you are escorting Emma around in every video...
>>721289402Why can /v/ not discuss anything more interesting than Battlefield and Silksong? When nostalgia is leveraged against the consoomer to cause them to pay attention and consoom, then it's worth a discussion.
I saw one of those nostalgia channels pop on my shorts using that song, but they used it on footage of the PS4 launch from 2013.
>>721290529>someone posts someone elses music>someone else posts the same song>"it's plagiarism!"
>>721289640You don't know about the Donkey Kong Country to troon pipeline, obviously.
>>721289228I think psyops are very specific and probably reached their height during the cold war (carrots are good for yours eyes, is one example of an actual psyop) but the vast majority of what places like pol call psyops, are just retarded conspiracy theories.
>>721289228Also MK ultra was a complete failure, it was one of the wackiest cold war projects out there. Remember this is the time where the government was funding anything it could to get ahead of the soviets.
>>721291625>Carrots are a psyop but nostalgia isn't Go watch the movies Forrest Gump and Pleasantville sometime
>>721289228Well most millennials and some zoomers are huffing the nostalgia copium really hard because shit sucks on every level. You can see that nostalgia sells, so jewtubers on order to be favoured by the algorithm, they will try to nostalgia bait as well. Its that simple. There is no conspiracy behind it. Its just a logical outcome of our times
>>721289228Aquatic Ambience is a nostalgic song, it evokes emotions, memories from the past.It was nostalgic when it released and still nostalgic nowadays I don't get what you don't understand.
>>721294353I do feel the same with ecco the dolphin soundtrack. It really takes me to another place (mentally speaking) every time I hear it. Some composers back then were pure geniuses.
>>721294654>Some composers back then were pure geniuses. There are still geniuses composers nowadays anon, don't let nostalgia blind you. This guy made a really cool music theory video about the whys, give it a try, some music notes simply evoke nostalgia to humans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0TpxSHdF7E
Aquatic Ambience is good but it's not as good as the water level themes in the sequels (Lockjaw's Saga and Water World)
>>721291625Don't forget the spinach psyop.
>>721295804Desu, Aquatic Ambience might be the pinnacle of human music
Everyone says Aquatic Ambiance is the goat, but my heart will always belong to Fear Factory.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNHPvgH0mqs&list=RDGNHPvgH0mqs&start_radio=1
>>721293587And it annoys me with all of the nostalgiabaiting. I can't tread outside of my circles on social media or subs on Youtube because that's all it is
