Big ups to all everyone we played big run with this weekend. That shit was crazy fun, even if it got ungodly levels of fucked as we hit HLM. And I got like 16 golds or some shit, that was awesome. Probably the most golds I've ever gotten outside of the splatlands bowl, plus like 200 or something more big shots to my count. hot take: splatoon 4 should remove special charge up, and replace its functionality with several abilities with conditional additional special (like tenacity, except not entirely dogshit)that way getting 220p special will actually hurt weapons, as it can't be patched with another main of scu, and it generally reduces special output (good for the game)

loved Splatoon 1, liked Splatoon 2, thought 3 sucked dick.I was happy learning the game along with everyone during 1, but once people started hacking and getting perfect gear, shit got annoying. I wanted to get more into it for Splatoon 2 but I feel like it being stuck on Switch made it such a problem, I never had friends to play it as a team consistently, and those that did only played it casual when I really wanted ppl who wanted to get better at it. Overall I gave up and let the flame die out. Splatoon 3 felt like such shit. Drip feed content, battle pass shit, Splatfests being boring as hell (3 games where Splatfests were JUST turf wars is terrible) and the weapons were so mehI REALLY wish I loved Splatoon. I REALLY wish I couldve immersed myself completely into it because I like the inklings, I like the gameplay, but I HATE that Splatfests were just turf wars, and I HATE that I couldnt play with my friends often because they either took it too casually (so we always lost) or just wanted to do Salmon Runs. The only two highlights Octo Expansion, and playing Final Fest during Splat 2 with my bf at the time

Sure if its turf war your goal in the end is to do precisely that but because only the very end matters you can find yourself in this situation where you want to refrain from playing aggressively too early only to feed the other team easy ults for when it actually matters.The game would benefit if covering the battlefield could only ever help you but nintendo obviously want some form of catch up mechanics to be in the game.
