this game will absolutely lock me at my computer for like 8 hours. no other game is like this. why?
>>721455608it's treadmill grindslop
Games that aren't stressful and where you're slowly building towards something do that
>>721455608numbers go up
Just won a culture victory with Japan. Complete anime domination
>>721455608>The second shittiest game in the franchise has this effect on youIf you played a good game, would you die?
Goyslop 6
Autism, but a mild form. If you start play EU4 or HOI you'll know it's getting more severe
>>721458407it would be extremely painful
>>721458524You're a big guy.
>>721455608My Pig Princess also has this effect
>>721458407Ok fine what should I play instead? Been thinking about alpha centuari
How to get into Civ 6? I hear so much stuff about this game but about 5 mins in I end up alt tabbing to Tiktok
>>721458569UUUU
>>721458727You can use tik tok on a computer?
>>721458676Not him but 4 and 5 were waaay better than 6. You've got your 4 fans and you've got your 5 fans (I'm one of the latter) and they tend to argue heatedly but they both kicked ass and 6 is a pale shadow of them.
>>721458727>Tiktokkys
>>721458972Interdasting. Civ 5 looks more my speed because I like hex tiles
>>721455608yeah 8 hours is about my max too
>>721458676Old World
it's pretty good like civ4-2shame civ 7 was a big disappointment with the improved graphics
>>721455608I too am an addict. What's crazy is this shit got pounded into me at my top university than high profile sales job. Yet most of the plebs have never heard of it.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flow_(psychology)
Why is 6 worse than 5 or 4? Honest question. 6 has some weird design choices and maybe stacks too many things at once but I feel like it has more gameplay options than 5. I really don't remember what 4 was like anymore and 3 feels too ancient to try at this point.I'm also a filthy casual, so I prefer to just play on King and do whatever than do highest difficulty or multiplayer.
>>721459545is it good?
>>721455608>not even a good civ gameSad.
>>721459926I never played 5. 4 was amazing but once you go 1upt you can never happily go back to the stack of doom.6 was my dream game... except the absolute retard AI. Putting the difficulty up just made it bullet sponge bullshit. Felt like playing a 3yrold with all queens in chess.Which is why I think 7 flopped. Yes, it was rushed and a product of 2020 wokeness. Thing though was it was impossible to improve 6 without improving AI, a Herculean task. So they dumbed the gameplay down a lot. And it worked, for all its glaring faults I do find it the best combat in the series, by far. The non city fights can be a lot of fun, its unfortunate everything else was awful.
>>721455608Are you stupid? It could genuinely be because you're stupid.
>>721460987>Dude what the fuck you like video games on /v/ smdh
>>721460987Id actually assume the opposite. DS2 IQs vs Sekiro. I know which fan base has advanced degrees, its not the adhd one.
>>721455608Why nobody plays or discuss Endless Legend 2??
>>721461619Too niche for this normiefag board
>>721455608Age of Wonders 4 does this to me.
>>721461619I boughted it since it's discounted in EA, but I don't play on playing an incomplete game.
>>721461619It's EA. I'm exited for the game but it doesn't really matter when it's still EA. It might as well not be out for me.
>>721460805There are also AI improvements in mods.
4X thread? how's EL2?>>721458407i like civ 5 and 6 and old world and no one can stop me
I think the zoning shit in 6 ruins it for me. It just felt annoyingly restrictive and having some asshole plant a city right outside of yours was always just annoying. Maps in 6 always felt super small compared to 5 on similar settings.
>>721455608>no other gamethat's like any strategy game. i've played stellaris for 12h straight more than once
I used to be addicted. But I got tired of making pointless decisions almost every turn, mainly stuff from the culture tree (so many useless cards)
>>721460805Same. Loads of hours in 2+3+4, skipped 5, bought 6 for like $5 on a sale and was incredibly disappointed. It's just over I guess.
>>721465451>But I got tired of making pointless decisions almost every turn, mainly stuff from the culture tree (so many useless cards)Yeah 6 is so obnoxiously bloated with absolutely meaningless decision making it really ruins the experience.
>>721458373>going for anything other than domination
>>721455608Quick and highly repeatable dopamine loop whose fundamental mechanics provide enough long-term novelty (you're always expanding, growing, producing, there's always one more city to capture, etc...)
I met the guy who composed the soundtrack. I worked as a sound tech for one of his concerts. he's a little nice asian dude.https://youtu.be/WQYN2P3E06s?si=59DiAUwkgKsh3Q-0
>>721465915Domination victories are the most boring victories in a 4x game. If I wanted nothing but warfare I'd play an RTS. I play 4x games specifically for interesting empire development and diplomacy.
>>721465996>did Baba Yetuhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noneMROp_E8My fuarking hero
>>721466068this. just max out science and be agressive as early as possible. my personal rank isreligious>culture>score>science>dominationscience victory needs to be harder or it would be higher
>>721466286Good taste. Though you're also spot on is there a single 4X game where science isn't the easiest victory to get?
>>721466178this was the favorite one he did at the concert i worked. i listened to it so much in rehearsals in soundchecks. he had another black guy at my concert that had much better pipes. nigga was singing like he was calling to one of the gods of his ancestors.https://youtu.be/XH6IT_tsSUI?si=pMlR9dmh3Lex3mb6
4 has squares so it's shit, the more irregular and complex the shape the better.I need a Civ game with asymmetric tiles, so I can actually paint the map the way I want and not stare at abstract geometric shapes all the time.
>>721466351nta but i don't know how you would make it harder and also interesting given that science is basically a prerequisite for the other victoriesmaybe if you somehow split science into like theoretical and applied and made basic research just the foundation of the game and science victory was just another variation of using the research you've done or something
>>721465996Who is better? Christopher Tin or Paul Anthony Romero?
>>721463518Maybe some good ones came out at the end but I found the early ones just stopped suicide by wall. I never once saw the AI place an Archer behind a wall or use the most OP units in the game, the airforce.
