There's also the Mata Nui game, but I never got to play that one. I still remember the music from this flash game.
https://youtu.be/83GoGHBkdygI remember watching this over and over when this first came out. I got the teal blue model for my birthday in 2011.
This entire thread will be zoomers trying to claim late millennial culture as their own (it wasn't) because they watched youtube retrospectives about it
I have tons of WoW nostalgia stuff, mostly old art and stuff but I also have some pics of old website pages. 2000s blizzard was pure kino, the last era of games being pure fun

>>721476670genuinely have no idea how to feel about happy wheels, it was so overdone on youtube for so long and yet it's still somewhat nostalgic for how it dominated that period of time. I wonder how many people still make levels for that game now.>>721476052really? WoW was insanely popular for like a decade, I'm sure whatever you would consider a zoomer could have been playing WoW during cataclysm or pandaria at least.
>>721475598Why are you so butthurt that early zoomers grew up playing Gamecubes and PS2s? >>721478389Yes? What about it? You have to split the years. Someone born in 1999 is not going to have the same exact nostalgia as someone born in 2004. Regardless, they are all zoomers in the end unless you're one of the faggots doing the "zillennial" bullshit.
>>721478286I know all that but there are retards who insist I am stealing late millennial culture because I was born in 2001 and couldn't possibly be playing Gamecube games at 4/5 years old. They'll insist I was too young to read even though I'm pretty sure most kids are capable of reading by those ages. They'll talk about how I'm hogging their childhood by referencing their teenage years or some horseshit. Also makes them mad when I experienced 2006/2007 adult swim as a kid but it's totally okay for them to experience 2001 adult swim as a kid.

I hate zoomers so fucking much. It was the darkest part of my life, the complacency of 2005-2009. my life had no meaning. I was caught in the middle of a divorce and showered with childish gifts. No one even wanted to perceive kids, they were kept sheltered. They knew what they were used for and who used them but kept quiet. Everyone was on the payroll. They had an objective and anyone with the ambitions to change anything in this world were sent to Afghanistan attacking what should have been our ally. I don’t think zoomers will ever understand what was happening. That’s what separates zoomers from millennials. You were in an immature playplace, meant to pacify you and distract you from the day to day drama of what was happening among the italians and jews, my family. You’re naive and oblivious to them ruining your life for the last 5 years and you do nothing, just protest a muslim country that couldn’t give a fuck about you. I can’t wait for you retards to become the cannon fodder of WWIII. I hope you aren’t safe no matter what desk job you take in the military. I hope you feel real pain some day.

Does anyone remember this series? while it was just a bomberman clone on flash i remember it being really fun with friends>pic was the best one i could find, i don't think i ever played 7
I (1997) wish all my zoomer friends a good week. I haven't been able to stop feeling nostalgic for months now thinking about all of this. I grew up sort of a neet. Played every console, eventually got a laptop and started playing maplestory and whatever I could get my hands on. I remember when minecraft first came out before all the fancy graphics, fog everywhere it was such an ethereal time I couldn't put the game down. Windows live messenger, skype, all the retarded youtube memes I wouldn't dare quote in public among normal people. I miss the PS2, Gamecube, SNES, N64, XBOX, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS, PS Vita all of it was a part of my identity I was a literal slop consumer but man shit really was better back in the days. I don't mean to be an emotional fag but I really do hope everyone has a good day/week. This is the hardest I've ever yearned in my life and I feel way too young to say that. I yearn for all of it to return. Hope anons don't mind me saying God Bless you for making this thread I love nostalgia looking back on all the aesthetics I took for granted and everything that passed me by in what feels like the blink of an eye now. >>721475067Being a core zoomer (2004 - 21yo) and having older siblings influence the stuff you like/grew up with was both a blessing and a curse. For example, TF2 is apart of my zoomer nostalgia. I started playing it in 2012 when I finally had access to a computer that wasn't a total shitbox, as I would often watch my older brother play it on his own PC in 2010. Nobody in school knew what the fuck it was, let alone any other game that was for a computer. >>721475067I was born in 97, first console was a Genesis/Mega Drive. Also had a PS1, PS2, GameBoy Advance, Nintendo DS, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PSVita, Switch and ofc PC.My family was poor as shit and I had to always sell my previous console to afford the next one, only able to have 1 or 2 games at a time too, at some point traded my Xbox for a PS3 that lasted just a few months before selling that to pay bills. To this day I miss my PS2 and Vita like crazy, amazing consoles with so many gems in it.PC gaming for me was mostly garbage because only very recently I managed to get a gaming PC, so growing up with stuff like Club Penguin, Mini Clip, New Grounds, some other simpler games that I would download and a lot of MMOs, the saving grace for PC gaming for me as a kid.I feel sad for the new gens, they have absolutely no idea what they missed, the quality of games, the genuine inovation, genuine passion, that's why it's so hard to try and explain to them how bad gaming is now days for the most part, they can't understand something they never experienced, and everyone takes offense for you not liking what they like, so they take everything as a personal attack.I hope there'll be a massive gaming crash to reset this fucked up industry, that is the only hope at this point.

I think part of the reason I'm sad with late zoomers and gen alpha is thar they can play anything they want now but because they can play everything they choose nothing. They didn't grow up with it and dont know what its like to just be stuck with 4 or 5 games for a year or two so you just make the most out of it and play the shit out of it. No one (that wasn't a /g/ edgecase) had a problem with light mode as the default color option until the other option was presented. Maybe 40% of people who were "online" used f.lux, and the rest just didn't care.I feel like this same idea can be applied to most things that used to be fun, and since 2018? onward people have been collectively choosing the unhappy option. This has been in reverse recently with silly and funposting, specifically xeets which is what gets reposted to 4chan and Reddit anyway. Now, if only we could get companies to embrace this same idea. The DS was such a fun gimmick and the Switch 2 is so boring in comparison. Here's your game playing device, bro. >>721511269zoomers spending 10+ hrs a day on their phones on average is the problem, not the color of their webpages and UIs.
I think a big part of older zoomers on here feeling so "out in the ether" in regards to relating to others is that amongst the youngest millennials and even a lot of their contemporaries being this chronically online or video game addicted was still weird and made you an outlier, whereas with young zoomers and alphies, they are chronically online, but in a inorganic, commercialized, and slop way. Lots of the older people who were "normal" have now been sucked into that matrix too. Think Tiktok, Instagram, and Facebook doomscrolling. These same people that do that shit all day would've called you a faggot if you wanted to stay inside and play I-Ninja on your ps2 instead of doing literally anything else outside 20 years ago. In short the Millennials that were first exposed to media and the internet the same way as the oldest zoomies are faggots who claim everything and say that the people born 1 year outside of the PEW Research Center definition of Millennial didn't have any of the shit they did and young zoomers and alphies genuinely grew up in another fucking world that is nearly unrelatable past a certain age threshold for "older zoomers" We Stand Alone
>>721476160Dude I wish this was still playable. They only managed to archive the pre-made games, not the custom player levels from this version. I used to play this game all night (huge ben 10 fan lol)
>>721511269People play too many movie games, not enough real games. Play an action or grand strategy game, no souls shit and no Sony walk and talk bullshit. Games are fun when you have to make a lot of consequential decisions, souls games have combat which is too shallow for this, and movie games obviously don't have anything engaging, it's just some failed director jerking himself off while crying that he didn't make it in Hollywood. RPGs are also to be avoided unless they have interesting branching quests, lots of ways to customize your character, or deep combat. Otherwise they are addictive but not truly engaging, because there's no real interesting decisions to be made. It doesn't matter what build you pick in Clair Obscur for example, Maelle will still end up doing 6 gorillion damage.

If you want to make a website like one from the 2000s, nobody's stopping you.>mfw was trying to find a screenshot of the flash website of Metroid Prime Hunters but find that no media exists of itI'm probably the last guy on earth who remembers it.
>>721517936>If you want to make a website like one from the 2000s, nobody's stopping you.Especially these days. Retro intentionally shit slop is all the rage. An old school developer even commented on this in a recent interview, how they had to work hard to rid ps1 games of certain visual errors back in the day, but how certain games nowadays are intentionally aiming for these visual glitches in an effort to be retro. It was incomprehensible to the guy.
>>721518059I won't lie to you anon, that dev is just a bit uncultured. Brian Eno discussed this phenomenon in his 1996 book, A Year With Swollen Appendices:>Whatever you now find weird, ugly, uncomfortable and nasty about a new medium will surely become its signature. CD distortion, the jitteriness of digital video, the crap sound of 8-bit - all of these will be cherished and emulated as soon as they can be avoided. It’s the sound of failure: so much modern art is the sound of things going out of control, of a medium pushing to its limits and breaking apart. The distorted guitar sound is the sound of something too loud for the medium supposed to carry it. The blues singer with the cracked voice is the sound of an emotional cry too powerful for the throat that releases it. The excitement of grainy film, of bleached-out black and white, is the excitement of witnessing events too momentous for the medium assigned to record them.Nobody maligned Alfred Hitchcock for making Psycho a black and white film when color film had existed for decades by that point. You can pull any number of examples of this.
There was this old flash game and I've never seen any anon mention it, I've forgotten the name. It was like worms but snow-themed and it had online multiplayer, there were multiple shot types like bricks that did huge damage but didn't bounce or roll like the other snowballs.

>>721512781>the oldest zoomies are faggots who claim everything and say that the people born 1 year outside of the PEW Research Center definition of Millennial didn't have any of the shit they didA huge portion of older Z actually grew up really fucking fast, because of the internet. This effect is lesser on Gen Z kids who had huge parental controls (these people are retarded they cannot critically think at all, because they don't understand anything about the world. You can see them all the time on youtube as content creators who have the stupidest takes possible because they don't understand anything), or younger Gen Z kids who got a more retarded social media Roblox Minecraft version of the internet. So a lot of older Gen Z gets really confused, when millennials hop in with 'wtf are you talking about I played club penguin and webkinz at 14,' 'what the fuck do you mean you played club penguin and webkinz at 14?' Because to an older Gen Z they can't fathom wanting to do that at that age. A lot of older Gen Z grew out of those kids games by like ten years old, but 10 - 13 at maximum. Millennials fuck with timelines a lot too to try to make themselves younger when they were doing things, so like they would be 14+ playing club penguin with gen Z seven year olds. Older gen Z can't fathom that. Another example, I saw a youtube video of a de-trans whose story didn't make sense to me, she was embarrassed she did it, had no real explanation for why she did it, so she was trying to blame Tumblr, but her timeline didn't add up. It was so bad she literally tried to say she was on Tumblr before Tumblr was even created, but there were several other problems with her timeline too. Millennials do that a lot. They didn't grow up as fast, because of the economy and their lack of internet.
>>721519216I don't recommend using one or two or three stories to blanketly discuss an entire generation consisting of hundreds of millions.

I'm also splitting Gen Z into three separate halves, and mostly talking about the youngest subsection of millennials, because I really don't think 20+ millennials would be like yeah let me log onto club penguin with seven year olds. The fact kids are socialized in the same school system, have the same pop culture influences, live under the same government policies, etc means yeah you can generalize. There's also way less Gen Z (and A) then other generations as people continue to have less kids. This is literally what society does in research we generalize about populations of people, and I'm explaining why I'm generalizing based on observable examples that other people can go look for themselves, or add onto if they have seen or have not. Society is now being run by AI algorithms for the benefit of demons, we will be heading for levels of dystopia previously only possible in science fiction. As someone born in 1997, every time I see anons assuming Gen Z are all broccoli-haired Tiktok addicts I'm always confused because my childhood was nothing like that, at allHell, I didn't even get my first smartphone until I was 15Then again I had a millennial older sister and parents who were kinda stuck in the 70s/80s in terms of taste so I might just be an outlier
i miss old minecraft online, pre-2016 onlineclassic games like hunger games and UHC were beyond kino, now everything is monopolized by hypixel, and that place is packed full of ultra tryhard zoomer hordes with femboy skins90% of players just play in skyblock and bedwars, while every other gamemode is left to rot, even skywars is falling in popularity
I remember when millennials used to shit on zoomers for liking Super Mario Sunshine saying that we only like because we grew up with it. Flash forward 15 years, and suddenly Sunshine is their childhood and we weren't even alive for it, and we're trying to steal it with fake nostalgia.
>>721496401>>721525419I mean I guess NeoGAF and VGR but most forums are kind of dead. Personally I'm not a fan of the format of scrolling endlessly through lists. I would unironically use a 4chan clone that wasnt anonymous if it still allowed uncensored speech. However with how crazy the world is becoming I doubt there will be much usage in that since anonymity is the only thing protecting most people right now in other countries. Specifically for Americans though? I would use that kind of website. I wish we could all hang out more and have an avatar to associate each other with because a lot of you anons seem chill. Unless someone consistently makes zoomer nostalgia threads this is gonna be the end if it before we see each other for awhile again. It comes down as to whether they grew up with Windows or Mac because my 2001 fellow babby classmates had no idea what emulators were and begged me to teach them how to get one for their shitty macbooks as if I was some computer wizard after seeing me play Mario 64 in class. I was just lucky that my older brother who knows far more because he grew up with MS-DOS taught me how to use emulators when I was a toddler.
>>721476972Same. Is there a reason for this? Is it simply due to flash players not being a thing anymore or just a profits thing?
>>721535272Someone could make a discord but that's such a mixed bag especially from 4chan lol. 4chan is cool because there's no pressure to immediately reply we can hold conversations that could extend beyond the day. Talking with no pressure and gradually building up friendships to daily chatting is the way to go but I just want to chat with more zoomers from 1997-2002
>>721535953Had the same experience. The amount of emulators I installed in phones for people because they saw me playing GBA games in class was absurd. I'm incredibly thankful for the hand-me-down shitty little Dell that I took care of for damn near a decade. Thanks to that, I have many good memories of Windows XP.God, I miss XP.
Im sorry but 96 is zoomer and pew research center can get fucked. First generation where majority of people were too young to remember 9/11. First generation to enter HS in the 2010's(which is actually huge because this was the advent of highschool culture in the US dramatically changing) No one on this planet would deny Tom Holland and Zendaya are zoomers and they were both born in 96.
>>721514358>Apparently 96 is considered millennialApparently. Was also born in 96. I still consider myself a zoomer just in regards to the fact that I do not relate at all to millenial "humor" and never have, as well as other cultural touchstones that I either didn't even register or considered lame as a kid. Literally any other type of humor is funnier than millenial humor, though.
>>721536251>>721535272I'm glad I'm not the only one who is depressed by how few spaces there are to have normal conversations with people in this age bracket. I'm sick of having to resort to fucking sub9eddits or Discords. In most cases they get cannibalized by ego-maniacs with anime pfps or they turn into a collection of the most unhinged, unlikeable people in the world all vying for attention on something that's only a step removed from a social media site. Old school forums had a touch of that with users who'd be desperate to become known but it was generally only ever a handful and often they were bullied by the community at large when boundaries were overstepped

It was still a social mediano tracking/spying/algorithms or invasive JS made for your endless consumption, no boomers, million users instead of billions and mostly young people (think about that for a second), still was not targeted by politics. it was literally just people and their interest and it was made mostly to make real friends around you (because everyone in your HS would use it, and it also required real creativity). the real life modern equivalent would be instagram because facebook is just boomer conspiracies. but instagram does not even come close, you just post photos and nothing else. and the average age is also pretty sparse. i agree on tumblr. though everything about this was more of a byproduct of a less-alwaysonline age. the internet was still a thing you sat down and you had to connect to, separate from real life. outside life and friends were still a thinginternet trends reflected real life and not the other way around.

I will agree there was a period shortly after 9/11 where people were touchy but thats the norm for any national tragedy. >Which worries me because it means our new right-wing cancel culture could also keep escalating and make the 10s seem like a haven of free speech by comparison. Really hope I'm wrong on that one.>I think it will only escalate. Not due to ideology but because technology will only make it easier to rouse the plebs into a virtual witch hunt.I do agree there - the internet and social media make it much easier to get a howling mob together. And the permanency of that part of the internet means that any harmless you joke made will be preserved forever, so that eventually when a culture shift turns it offensive, that howling mob will be after your head, no matter how long ago it was.
>>721475067Zoom niggers weren't born or were in preschool in those years. There is no zoomer nostalgia except fortnite and minecraft.

>>721545309Are you telling me that it's impossible for someone born in 2002 to have nostalgia for a flash game from 2010?I know you're retarded, but think a bit longer before answering.
>>721541919I didn’t really into using the internet as a social platform until my mid to late teens and even then only ever went imageboards like here or MMO forums. Prior to that only used it for playing flash games or looking up cheat codes and that sort of shit.
At what age my fellow zoomerbros got their first PC?For me it was 13yo, never went back since. Mainly to play Hearthstone and early cs:go.
>>721546441Depends. Do you mean first computer in general or first gaming PC?Because I got my first laptop when I was 13, but I didn't build my first rig until I was 24.
>>721546441I got mine when I was around 16 or 17. Used to exclusively play xbox 360 with my two best friends but they eventually moved on to PC for a year without me but they ended up saving up money and surprising me by buying parts and building a PC for me. I'll always be grateful. It's a shame we all stopped hanging out and talking. That's life I suppose.
>>721490301Holy shit that's an actually core flash game memory.I remember playing this a lot after school on a site called Agame (?) or something similar.
>>721541156still hasnt and never will release. The team went totally radio silent right?
>>721541791>something similar Subspace but for Kirby Air RidersI wish but no. Already confirmed its only going to have two modes. Air Ride and City Trial.
>>721543783That sucks.
>>721542361>got a gorilla for sale, got a gorilla for sale
>>721496401I feel the problem is that older zoomers and younger zoomers grew up in a practically different world Older Zoomers still got the golden age of the "wild west" internet and are nostalgic for flash games, but younger zoomers grew up with mobile devices, social media and centralized internet, and are more attached to older iphone games.I didn't get a phone until I was in late middle school early high school, so I don't share remotely the same amount of nostalgia for anything mobile related that other zoomers do.
