Outside of flightsims, joysticks are a very 'boomer' thing that was mostly purchased because they thought this was how you'd play those vidijagames like in the arcades and PC control pads hadn't caught on yet.

they are also for playing descent

I use this to play the truck sims along with a wheel+pedals. Forward and backwards for sequential shifting (I don't have an h-pattern). Twist it to look left and right. Some other miscellaneous things like blinkers and wipers. Pretty nice.

I used it to play MechWarrior 2, really made the game feel more simulator-ish.

Not sure why but the deadzone on mine went bad almost immediately and now it has almost a full inch of stick drift. Also the base is so fucking humongous and goofy shaped there's no way to clamp it to my chair or desk that isn't inconvenient

The one I bought on flea market for 10 bucks.

i bought this fucking shit just for battlefield 3. used it once

What games are the best to be played with these kind of analog flight sticks. Except flight sims, because it's an obvious answer?

I had a X-52 for Elite and it was great. Switched back to MKB flying this year though, haven't really used it since

arma when flying a plane :^)

The only good ones are the ones with force feedback, and they cost like 600 bucks.

I wanted to buy one of these but then I realized what games can I even play with it?

>Good old 4 player splitscreen gaymen
>Two players share the keyboard, one using WASD, the other using the arrow keys
>One player gets the flightstick
>One player gets the logitech gamepad

excuses. we know its small

I remember trying that at a friend's once, what absolute dogshit of a controller. It's so fucking bad it would probably ruin the idea of a joystick to anyone who wants to buy one.
It's especially egregious when you consider a VKB Gladiator stick will cost you just 100$.

It's the only one I own. I think I paid $40 for it. It was the most recommended "starter" HOTAS, and I figured I'd either upgrade if I really liked flight sims, or only be out $40 if I didn't, but then when I thought about upgrading, all joysticks got prohibitively expensive. Even this one sells for like $100 US now.

The worst part is, joysticks aren't great for immersion in MSFS because airplanes use yokes, but yokes are shit for spaceflight games.
