It's almost like wuxia novels in a way, they have their own language and silly little rules that are really fun to engage with once you're privy to it. Manga has a similar thing but they tend to be more consistent with these kinds of rules.I wouldn't ever call anything made by Marvel "worth reading" though. DC (especially vertigo), Image, Dark Horse, any smaller company/independent stuff is where you'll get the actually good stuff.
