What was the game and the moment when this finally happened?

Nier Automata third playthrough

I'm not the biggest fan of the game but I respect the balls to bury so much of the last third of the game that deep in, if it weren't for internet and social media I bet most would just drop the game at 9S

Didn’t understand the game, hated it before quitting just before Anor Londo.
Then played Dark Souls 2 on release and found it awesome, 100%'d it.

It's funny how all the souls games have these heaps of content that go unused and these story elements and ideas that get added and dropped from at the drop of a hat. While Miyazaki has done well enough, but they should really get a director that doesn't constantly flip flop on what he wants.

The game is short but you initially play as 2B. If you finish the game, which isn't 'that' long, you replay the game as 9S, who is a hacker-type twink.
While playing as 9S and his hacking happens you learn a lot about the world he isn't vocal about in playthrough 1.
After completing the 2nd playthrough as 9S you unlock playthrough 3, which is completely different from 1 and 2 from the getgo, but if you are into it I'd recommend playing it yourself, it's very good.

completely understandable reaction to my post but the truth is that in the last 5 years I can't really commit myself to playing games too often because of life stuff and the lack of time. The game, much like many other that I wasn't able to play like witcher 3 and yakuza zero, are on my Wishlist and I'll play then when I get my own place next year

this never happens in games, you just come to the realization all the 'interesting mechanics' are dead simple and so easy that children could master it.

games just dont have anything complex about them, theyre all the same bullshit. you play a lot and you get better. you play a lot and you win. only the opposite happens

New Londo is one of the best areas in the game. It actually does something different instead of throwing yet another generic enemy at you.
The game actually takes a huge drop in Anor Londo. The whole place is just a straight line to O&S with nothing interesting in the way. It's such a wasted area.

My first was an undead warlock, I made it a woman though because I liked that the female model showed more exposed bone, which quickly became irrelevant as my armor covered it all up.
>>
>>721628141
Nier just incorporates character routes into the game. It's like if you've ever read a visual novel.
Route 1 is the initial layout of the plot.
Route 2 is a different perspective on route 1.
Route 3 is a continuation of routes 1 and 2.
Because non-VN games rarely use character routes for storytelling, the fact that Nier used it exposed a lot of people to a relatively unfamiliar storytelling method. And it worked really well.

After years of not being able to stomach them, I gave dark souls remastered another go. if you don't want to hold down back or back to charge boom, you can hide it in normals/command normals like hopkick
>>

you hold down back instead of straight up back, it lets you hold your charge that way
this works for anything you do too and basically anytime you aren't doing something else you should be charging to minimize the "obvious" position
>>
>>721656284
Are you really doing it or cheating like what alot of online users do and have moves hotkeyed to 1 button presses?

This shit started in skullgirls and fucking ruined the online experience. Then the retarded devs kept it in and did nothing about it, then it got worse and worse and worse.

Sf4 also had this shit were you could tell commands had been hotkeyed to single button commands. Fuck dont some fighting games even have that as standard now thanks to shit like this?
I know granblue vs has it but they call it 'assist' rather than just cheating

Are you retarded anon?
You play skullgirls and its everyone and their fucking dog using a keyboard with all moves hotkeyed to single button presses.

Everyone picking painwheel or peacock and the second the fight starts its spam move + spam move + spam move + special + spam + spam + special.
The only chance you have is if you use your special bar to cancel their attack and you've got maybe 1 second to do onto them as they did you. However if they have moves hotkeyed then its 1 button press vs actually having to use skill vs which is the faster input.

I've literally seem people doing this shit who get flawless victories. Then when you turn that off you see they've no skill at all.
It's the fighting games equivalent to pieces of shits using aimbots in fps games
>>

anon, peacock is a zoner, that's literally her entire gimmick is so toss george's and item drop and filling in the gaps with 5HP + assist. are you genuinely fucking retarded? do you think peacocks are macrosing this shit? it's literally 3 special moves and a normal over and over again until you die. how do i know this? i literally main peacock.

>>721658223
The charge input is hardcoded into the game and reflected in your own client, you dumbass. if they were using cheatengine (this wouldn't do it by the way dumbass, it's for changing memory values not for using literal cheat codes) then it would result in a desync, you dumbass.
>>
>>721658223
Anon,
while you could use a macro to have a charge input be the perfect length, a macro which locks you into doing something for one second in a game where you are required to react to things within 25 frames would be a very bad macro.

But the question everybody is asking you is, why would you possibly hotkey commands? Do you think that's the difficult part of a fighting game before? Do you perhaps struggle with performing the dp motion?

A macro makes sense in case of an actually difficult input such as various movement techniques in Tekken, but neither Granblue nor Skullgirls have anything remotely difficult to actually execute, they just have qcfs and dp motions. The difficult part in Skullgirls is defense and the difficult part in Granblue is yomi. A macro will not help you with either. You can mod your game to make you block high 1 frame before an overhead becomes active, but that's not a macro.

Death Stranding - when you reach the new area and you start unlocking stuff.
I completely gave up on it the first time I played. You start out with fuck-all, nothing much happens when going from A to B, and the sites all give you side-missions from the start that are dull as shit to complete.
But once you start unlocking new ways to travel, new gear to mess around with, and you have to go through areas with enemies, and the story starts getting more interesting, it becomes a much better game.
>>
>>721659823
the funny part for skullgirls is that you would need like a billion different macros all with different timing variables to encompass even half of the available mixups in that game
>>
>>721658674
set up a macro that cancels the charge macro then?
>>
>>721659193
Because people got pissy at EoC and never played runescape again until old school came back, they have zero knowledge of what happened between that
Fun weapons like hand cannon, actual quests not gutted like the corporeal beast lore who is just kinda there in OSRS, skills like summoning which admittedly did break the game but at least it was fun
of course the p2w trash is still there but there's some merits

I'm reasonably excited for Wayward Realms as well. It's spent a long time in idea guy hell where I've doubted it would come together, but I'm actually liking that it's shaping up.
You need to understand, they've been working on the game for years, and until now it's just been lore bloviating and big promises about a super AI gamemaster and an unlimited huge world. I was thinking that, in reality, it would more-or-less just be Daggerfall except better, and the game would just be largely procedural generation. Everyone falls for the procgen meme every time for some reason. Seeing that the game is finally being made is a good thing, and I'm not disappointed because I don't believe marketing hype without results in the first place.
Some games aren't possible, and people are stupid for believing in them. Star Citizen is that way. Any game that seems more like Sword Art Online fantastical bullshit probably isn't actually going to be on that level.
Wayward Realms turning out to be Daggerfall but better is all I wanted, and I didn't expect it to be a fantasy supergame in the first place.
