This entire series was ahead of its time
This was my first introduction to the concept of virtual reality mmorpgs. It made me obsessed for so long. Sword art online is dogshit. I want a new .hack, but I'm afraid they'll ruin it. So its probably for the best the series remains how it is.

>>721633835Top row is the originals, IMOQ. Bottom row is the sequel series G.U. which is somewhat stand alone to the originals so its fine to play it first. Both the originals and the GU series are 1 game broken up into parts where each part is crazy short but all equal up to a normal jrpg length so its best to not think of them as 4 games for IMOQ and 3(4) games for GU.

>>721631218I remember the keyword system leading to what felt like an infinite number of zones blew me away as a kid. It felt special when you ended up in a field with something notable in it. At the end of the day it was just slightly different variables within a set number of biomes but it really made the World feel bigger at the time.
